Halfords will fit it for you for about £18 upwards including bulb. Just drive uip to their fitting point in their car park.
I'm a cheapskate, I buy the kit and either fit them myself or get my brother to do it :rotfl:
Just came back from the Cake and Bake show. I had a long list of items I wanted and only found one of them.'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -
has anyone had a till spit from Morrisons which said spend at least £10 get 250 points added - think its 250 points per £10
if so how long did it take for your points to go on?
The SSS scanned the voucher for me and it shows as 1p so its def scanned - just wondering how long it takes as I am quite close to the match and more total for a fiver :T - hoping that I've scanned OHs and not mine.
the tills pit then gave me another one
I had a look at the plant section in Morribobs yesterday and there seemed to be new ones coming in - some of the 2 for £3 ones and a few others for £2 so ideal for gap filling - as long as you don't dig up the spring bulbs you have just planted
there was some of the nice lobelias, primulas with drumstick heads, white penstonenes, linum whatever that is, veronicas - so I ended up with 6 plants for £10 which is not too bad.
and that's what I should be doing now instead of drinking tea and wondering about Morrisons match and more points ...
I think the points went on towards the end of the timescale ("points will be added within X days" on the voucher).
I have another one now, so may buy more GC's for xmas.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

My main worry is finding a good/excellent builder. My dad was a 'proper' builder and I can still tell the houses he built from others built by not proper tradesmen. I REALLY wish I'd had all I needed done when I ran the accommodation bureaus as I knew all the good tradesmen then - In a previous position I used to be in charge of managing builders and ordering up everything they needed. This however was over 20yrs ago so I don't have the contacts nowadays & the ones I did have I would think are mostly retired now.
Mhoc - jeez 3 weeks for 1 bathroom - he sounds like a right cowboy! I know when my brother had his kitchen/bathroom business he used to reckon on approx. 3 days for kitchen & 1 day for bathroom + tiling on top (a good tiler should only take 1-2 days max) & they cleared up after themselves. I know people were very impressed with his firm - I do know some other firms were quoting 3-4wks for what his workmen did in less than 1 week. Sadly I haven't seen/spoken to him in 5yrs+ it's a long sad story.0 -
Did I break the board?
Just nipped to Ms and they have Ben and Jerry's peanut butter cup ice cream reduced to 50p.

Although in fairness 3 weeks could also imply that the builder was a craftsman and perfectionist as opposed to a cowboy and its not always about speed ....we know not the full facts and I'm sure mhoc is delighted with her new bathroom.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I love a pen and paper you cant beat it...
When my mum was alive and in a nursing home even though she was only half an hour or so away and I used to visit at least twice a week,I also used to send her a postcard with a few lines on at least once a week. She suffered with dementia and whilst a lot of the time she would be confused about quite a lot of things her postcards on her postcard wall was something she never lost sight of and would know if a week had been missed.
It wasnt just me that used to send cards but others in the family too....I think there are several of us who still can't walk past a stand of postcards without having a look whats on it and having to resist the urge to buy a few for mum.
My mum had dementia, altzimers. When she went into a home I used to send her postcards from home (Newcastle and Northumberland) she loved getting them. You couldn't shut her up, telling us tales of days gone by at the location that weeks card came fromrhosynbach wrote: »hi everyone hope the elite are well, have not been on as rl bit sad, and very busy lost a friend, an amazing man 45 years on lifeboats took ill on a rescue and died, also ds3 broke his hand while being taught self defence at school. my new mare has to be rehomed as she is bonkers, oh needs to go for an op for a hiatus hernia, but will not go.

Big hugs rhos, sounds like you've been having quite a time of it.
I'm ok thank you, got my next surgery on 21st October so not long now. Finally got pre op booked, unfortunately its next Friday when I was hoping to visit my friend and go with her to her chemo session. Bit gutted I can't go, but there wasn't any other appointments.0 -

Its such an easy thing to do...and brings/brought so much pleasure to the recipient ....we too used to sit for hours during visits chatting about the cards ...it was a joy to see.
We also had a digital photo frame loaded with pics through the ages which was also a great conversation point and something I would recommend anyone in a similar position to consider gifting if appropriate to an ageing relation...i guess thats an example of the old pen and paper and the modern digi frame working in harmony.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Yes, you're right, I shouldn't have put that he was a cowboy. It does all depend on how much work is needed. I know my brother had all the qualified tradesmen at hand & the times I quoted were basically for replacing units.
I hope I didn't offend you mhoc!
I also remember mum having to have a new kitchen when she had a council place & the council workman taking THREE days to do under 2 courses of tiles, leaving the doors all open when she was ill in bed and creating a HUGE mess. Brother sent along his tiler on the weekend and he fully tiled her whole kitchen to ceiling level in less than a day plus rectified the mistakes the original 'tiler' had made. I could have done the tiling in less time than the original bloke & made a better job of it too. Guess I got too used to being around 'proper' tradesmen in the past.
I'd be tamping mad if my kitchen & bathroom weren't done completely to a GREAT standard in under 2 weeks, even with the knocking down walls, building up & replastering.0
