:rotfl: I do love a corset. Until the end of the night where I can only take very tiny breaths and as a result have (incoming Friends reference, not autocarrot) heaving beasts.

Hi faerie, I'm a hummingbird and usually feel too self-conscious to post. I always read this thread daily though and I'm so concerned about you that I feel able to de-lurk...
I was on the receiving end of a 136 myself, many years ago. Looking back, it was the best thing that could have happened to me. It got me into the system once and for all and it got me help. Now, contrary to popular belief, a police cell is used only as a last resort. Most areas have 136 rooms, situated either at the cop shop or in the same building at the crisis team. They're nothing like police cells at all - more like comfortable waiting rooms. You'll wait there until you've seen a professional. That person will then make the decision as to whether you need to go inpatient or not.
At the psych unit, my experience was very similar to what WaS has described so I won't elaborate further. I just wanted to tell you that although it seems daunting at first, it was actually a blessed relief in the long run.
I sincerely hope that you get the help you need and soon.0 -
Faerie, WaS (as always) offers good advice. Hope you are still reading, and post as often as you need to. X x0
