I'm working from home as well elsien - although no germs (for once!) Hope you're feeling better soon x.

Instead of sitting in traffic for up to an hour, I've put some washing on, tidied the kitchen and got some bread in the breadmaker. Much better than a commute - although I do have the world's greediest cat complaining every time I dare to go in a kitchen cupboard for anything other than treats :D

ETA: Birdie - there's a lot to be said for security (well, as much security as anyone has these days). I couldn't be a contractor. I hate being the new girl! Am only just starting to settle where I am now and it's been nearly 9 months.

Hmm, I need guidance about a non MH issue. DH is taking me minibreaking in a posh hotel for me burpday. It's his burpday a few weeks later and so I need to organise something for him. So do I stick with the old home town ( most of the hotels are booked out), choose the city on the other side or do what I'm thinking about which is going further afield even though we'd need a longer train journey or he'd have to drive?

Ah birdie but Mrs moo you can't prove it was aimed at you can you.

Would he be happy to drive code? What sort of train journey (big difference between couple of hours with a seat, and 4 hours/3 changes/standing room only). Would the kind of place you stay and the things to do be the same in both places?

Have no idea why I'm bombarding you with questions!
  • Morning all :)

Today is D's last meeting with his manager to find out whether or not they need him to do knowledge transfer. If they do then that's good because it means another months pay and a bonus at the end of that, if they dont then that's him finished. Its all getting very real now. :(

I suppose you've got to look at it positively in that the mortgage would be paid off and we'd be left with a decent sum to last a fair while, but still, it's a scary place to be.

Melly, cover the mirrors if you have to, get undressed in the bathroom and shower with your eyes shut if it helps. (This may not be a sensible suggestion if you fall over getting in and out btw.)

Code, if it were me I'd go further afield. I like bumbling around new places.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • I'd say either go further afield maybe as the train journey will be nice and part of the experience! If you decide that's not a possibility, then the city sounds good. :)

    Enjoy your posh hotel!

    Gentle hug Melly x

Code - I'd go somewhere new/different. Maybe even treat yourself to First Class on the train so the travel is part of the experience. Free* coffee and biscuits! :)

*well, paid for technically, but YKWIM!

Hope D's meeting is positive Georgie. ((Hugs))

I'm not surprised you hate your police force Melly when they have an attitude like that! :(
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • I love First Class, we always get it when we go to London. If you travel early enough you get a breakfast which is yummy! My Mam got it when she went to her brothers in Colchester and loved the service she got. It's probably quite common place to get first class nowadays, but she'd never done it before and was chuffed bless her!
