    pyxis,

Love the photos. They brighten my day considerably. Where are we going next, lol?

I am hopeful that, after 17 days, my period is stopping. If not, I will call the doctor again tomorrow. (Googled womb cancer so I need to be careful that I don't convince myself that I have that).

    WaS,

I have certainly felt very strong sexual attraction to any male who seemed to like me or be interested in me. I still do to some extent. I too considered prostitution at times when money was a huge issue - not that I would have had the faintest idea how to go about it.

The only thing for me is that I have always seen sex as part of a loving relationship too. I think I have just set myself very strong rules around sex and so ultimately my head has always very strongly ruled my heart on the subject. The rules have been gleaned as a result of the many books I have read - fiction and psychology. I have never had an affair with anyone married or had casual sex, for example.

I think my rules may have been different if I had suffered long term sexual abuse.

Like everyone else, I am totally amazed and impressed that you are still functioning at all, let alone as a kind and wonderful human being.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

    WaS xxx

Not the same scale of problem (if that makes sense), and not at all trying to diminish what you've gone through, but I just want you to know that a lot of people have pretty unhealthy relationships with sex, and with... well, relationships.

I've not been abused. I did however, have a huge part of my life where I would sleep with anyone who basically looked at me as I was so pathetically grateful that they would even pretend to be interested. I've got no idea how many people I've slept with - it's a lot, the majority drunken one night stands that I have no memory of.

Not sure where (if anywhere!) I'm going with this.... just want you to know that in our way, we do understand some of what you're going through. Not all, of course, but each one of us on here probably has an understanding of one little aspect - and hopefully that makes you feel a bit less alone. I can safely say that we all think you're awesome :D.

    Loving the photos Pyxis :)

Going to a hotel in the Lakes today. This woman does loads of different soups, you can just have one, or try them all. I'm sure my Mam called it a lent supper (excuse me if I've got that terminology wrong?) and she usually gets a lift off my Aunty & Uncle, but they're going somewhere first, so can't, and she refuses to get in the car with the woman who offered her a lift, so I've got roped in to taking her. Wasn't too bothered about going, but as I like soup, I guess it'll be ok! :p Just can't be bothered making polite conversation right now, feel like I'll end up telling someone to P off, got severe PMT!

WaS, you're amazing. You survived a messed up childhood and adolesence and yet you're still a kind, caring, empathetic person who would do anything for anyone! You're a better person than many! (((Hugs)))

I saw a sloth t-shirt today and thought of you! :)

I was going to suggest moving in with Millefleur too but since that's not a possibility then I think sheltered housing is a good idea. Maybe she just needs to visit to see that it's not a residential home and actually will be good for her. :)

Lent supper (or whatever it is!) sounds interesting Georgie! Hope you get to eat soup in peace and leave unscathed!

Awesome photos Pyxis! I really want to go to Sri Lanka now!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    and big {{squishes}} for everyone
Just catching up on the thread and you guys are fab and make me laugh so much.
Farting and Burping is somewhat of a tradition in my group of friends, so much so that there is an established grading system and anyone providing a sample that scores under a seven is dimly looked upon.
And in other news - you will all be pleased to know that the cough medicine Actifed ( which is bright red and sticky) completely vanishes out of material when you plop it into water with a little vanish powder. I know this because I was trying to shake the cough medicine in bed and the top came off and covered me, the bed and all the sheets etc...........and best of all............. I did exactly the same thing the next night too!!! Hubby contributed by laughing his pants off and taking a pictures of me covered in red gloop! Thankfully, despite leaving the last spillage for two days before attempting to clear up (just felt so rough I couldn't be bothered so put a towel over it and rolled over and went back to sleep!)- it magically vanished. Who knew?!
Pyx - loving the holiday photos and stories.
    Big hugs to all.xx
  • WaS - wot everyone has said. You are amazing (and sex is over-rated - I really don't think it should be the most important part of any relationship. Far more important to LIKE each other!)

Loads of squishes (and some gratefully received, as well xxx)

Ooh melly I would be raging - prior appointments only people, it's not hard!! Is it an emergency of some sort, or are they being useless?

Wish me luck - am about to send a scary work email.
