PMS does that to me too, tea. Hope police baby calls today.
Hang in there Melly, we are all with you.
Why is nothing ever straightforward? The registration of the car he was driving doesn't match the vehicle. Now we have to contact the police and report it, the insurance claim can't move forward until we do so because they don't have the right details or the right owner on record. Aside from millefleur, is there anything that you actually needed the car for in the next couple of weeks, WaS?
Don't be angry about the driver. Yes, he should take responsibility but your anger is not going to affect him.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
You may be able to claim compensation from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) if you’ve been injured or your property has been damaged because of an uninsured or ‘hit and run’ driver.

Dwp will do !!!! all as they need an ssp1 form from former employer who won't give me it.
Hardship payments are vouchers so won't help with getting me to interterview.

Will contact TRA (its a housing thing for local area)I think see if they can help with insurance payment0 -
I am racking my brains to come up with a plan for you melly but am stumped so far. It's so ridiculous that the system can let you down this much.
Would a hire car for the day be cheaper than the insurance? Not that that's a long-term solution.0 -
melly are you within walking distance of a job centre or jobs and benefits centre ? The tia scheme ( travel to interview ) offers help - only by public transport and I'm not very knowledgable on it . Might be worth phoning to see if you qualify .

I was looking at the travel to interview scheme too but from what I can tell it's only if you're on JSA - and it seems to have some very bizarre restrictions (interview in a different place to the job!) Could definitely be worth checking with a job centre though - they may know of some local schemes that could help.0

Morning all, seems like it's been a tough weekend for a few of you.
Melly, I really, really hope that you gets some good stuff coming your way soon. Have you contacted the insurance people about your struggle to get the money for the payment?
So annoying about the car WaS! I hope it doesn't take too long to get sorted. I get so upset when idiots do things like this and innocent people are punished for their actions.
Tea, hope you hear back from police baby soon, I can't believe his Mum is now harassing your parents! !!!!!! is going through her mind?!
Welly, I hope you never feel like no-one wants you posting on here! I miss you when you're quiet. How's Escapette getting on? Any cool new skills you can brag about?!
I'm having a bit of a wobble today as Baby Bird has gone up to the next room at nursery which means he's not a baby anymore! He's 2 this month! He's also showing us some lovely sneak previews of what to expect with the Terible Twos. He was... testing... yesterday! Luckily he made up for it at bedtime by being cute and cuddly, as if 20 minutes of sweetness can make up for 8 hours of a$$-ness!
In happier news, we're redecorating our bedroom, finally after living with the 'temporary' mismatched stuff we dumped in our room when we moved 7 years ago!Just Ikea stuff but it's nice and it all matches! Also picked up some wallpaper with a postcard/travel theme so hoping to make our room a bit of a holiday themed sanctuary. This does mean that I'm going to have to have a really good clear out before all of the furniture arrives next week! It's going to take me a few days to work up the courage to do it!
If anyone sees any cool things (pillows, pictures, little touches etc) that will go with the paper/theme, let me know!
