So sorry to read this WAS . Must have been such a shock to be woken by the police . At least they've arrested someone so hopefully any damage will be covered . I hope you get back to sleep if you need to .I woke at 3.10 this morning and could not get back to sleep . I was really tired when I went to bed so I don't know why I couldn't sleep for more than two hours . I will be like a wilted daisy by midday !

Oh dear, pollyanna, hope you aren't too tired today.
Now we know that no one was hurt we are pretty annoyed at the driver for driving off and very grateful to whoever it was who got his registration and reported it to the police who according to the statement they gave us for insurance then pursued him. WaSp asked if the guy was drunk and the police just said we can't answer that but we had reason to arrest him, that is likely a yes then. He apparently went around the roundabout at the end of the road and lost control, swerved across the road and up onto the pavement took out a signpost and then crashed into our car in the drive. They did get his insurance details for us but we will still have to pay £250 excess, where are we going to find that? If we wish to claim that we have to take him to court. In the meantime we have no car. This is not a good start to the day in the least, there is a lot of damage. We will take photo's when it is light and then call our insurance.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Are you okay tho WaS ?
I have also got to raise a . mythical figure to pay car insurance so I can get to coven for interview 2.
Calling DWP in 30 mins to retell them they can't have payslips I don't have them and can't get them plus better to pay me now and get me off ESA rather than leave me so I'm worse (which I will be).

Assuming he is insured I think you can claim your excess from his insurance without going to court WaS. If not I think you can claim it from the ?MiB?. Your insurance will help you.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0

WaS if he is insured then his insurers may settle the claim directly with you and you shouldn't have to pay any excess . Even if you claim through your insurers and they ask for an excess, it will be refunded when the claim is settled and his insurers accept liability, because the excess is for claims where your insurers cannot recover the cost of the claim from a third party. If someone hits you, their insurers are paying and so they cover the whole amount. Either way you, shouldn't need to go to court, normal car insurance claims are sorted out by the insurers without involving the courts. Both of my claims never went near a court.

In the few weeks I've been on an online dating site, loads of people have stopped replying mid-conversation, at least three have deleted their entire profile mid-conversation, loads of them haven't replied at all, and one's cancelled a couple of hours before a second date.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

Thank you, ono. That is something at least. The more we think about this the more angry are that the police told us the driver failed to stop. That is such a horrid thing to do to someone, I am so glad that they caught him.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
