I prefer to think that it is happily hibernating, only to be awoken by it's rightful owner. The one who'll give it the love and attention it deserves.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I got a lovely thing said to me last night -
"No act of kindness is ever trivial."
I was in town when I saw a couple of homeless chaps minding their own business and chatting to each other, not asking for anything, bothering anyone or making a ruckus, and it was freezing cold.
So I popped into Greggs and bought two pots of soup, and took them over to the chaps. They looked delighted, I apologised that it wasn't much and seemed trivial, and one of them looked me in the eye and said the above.
The other rummaged in a carrier and came up with a satsuma - apparently someone had given him a bag of them earlier in the day and he was sharing them with his friend, but wanted to say thank you to me for the hot meal. My heart broke a little bit at that point (I tried to refuse but he said he'd be insulted, the satsuma was delicious!) - they were both so well spoken and nice, how on earth did they end up on the streets?!
They promised me they had somewhere to go that night - a hostel - and that they were determined to help each other up again
I will always remember what that man said. I truly hope they get off the streets.
Good luck Melly, happy birthday to our birthday posters, and lots of love to everyone.

Happy birthdays SDW and Ginger.
Good luck Melly, I hope all goes well.
I didn't weigh myself this morning as I massively overslept. It's probably just as well though as I doubt it would've been good news seeing as I was managing to put on weight when I was eating reasonably well and have had an appalling couple of days. The bakewell tart I made at the weekend was pretty lovely though
Seeing as it's my best mate's birthday this week and my mother-out-law's coming to stay next week I'll probably be baking more goodies this weekend. As much as I know that I should take the enjoyment just from cooking nice things for other people I find it too hard not to try some. Well, I wouldn't like to give people nasty food so it's best I check it first...0 -
I managed to get some heart-shaped cookie cutters from wilko today. They are to make some leaves for a birthday cake, but as I am now organised in plenty of time I shall make my valentine some biscuits. (Don't know what I will do for DH, hehe).
Question for code and ono, and anyone else. My printer died. My brother - fixer of anything - can't fix it and has a grudge against it now as it leaked ink all over his paperwork. So I have to get a new one.
Needs to have
colour
A4
be able to copy single sheets (any more would be a bonus)
scanner would be a bonus
wireless would be a bonus
doublesided printing is a bonus but not essential
ink or consumables would need to be easily available
I think we had an HP one last time and we got on fine with that but it is old
Cheap, if possible. I don't print much but would occasionally need to print maybe 50 copies of something.
Any ideas?
Also best wishes to birthday peeps and interviewees today.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
WW - I have this HP Printer (well, an older model as I've had it for years!) and I've been impressed with it. The cartridges are available widely, produces good quality prints, it copies and scans, it's wireless and it even has a button to print off a random puzzle!
It doesn't do double sided though.
That was a lovely act of kindness HBS! I hope that keeps you feeling all warm and fuzzy for the rest of the week!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Wednesday weigh-in
Stayed the same again, which is unsurprising given I was only good for 2 days last week.
Positives:
1. I didn't actually gain any weight.
2. Once again I resisted the temptation of a weekend takeaway.
3. I bought multipacks of sweets with the weekend shop instead of family bags, because I usually eat those mindlessly and realise I've eaten the whole thing.
For the next week:
1. Be good for 5 days. Working from home is not an excuse to eat rubbish.
2. Try to eat less rubbish especially salty snacks which I find addictive and make me retain water.
3. Try at least one new recipe.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
