Thanks guys.
I've been hovering.
I've volunteered to digitise the family photograph albums.
I went down to London and spent a couple of days catching up with the family and came up with a large suitcase filled with albums and random photos.
It's a huge task. I spent four hours down there, wheedling 37 photos out of their frames, scanning them and working them back into their frames.
There are thousands of photos!!
I've ordered an expensive scanner and paid for it to be delivered today. It comes with it's own photo correction software but I've no idea how long it's all going to take.
I'm also waiting in for a Sainsbury's delivery.
That's what happens when I'm paid the day before my birthday.
Good luck in Coven, melly. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Oooh happy birthday SDW and Gingernutty!
Pyxis, we're supposed to be encouraging others in the way of Marie Kondo and letting go of clutter, not talking each other into keeping it!
I had a rare moment of decluttering last night and filled a bag with books for the charity shop. We need the shelf space more than I need those books!
Moving on... to Wednesday Weigh In!
I lost 3.5lb this week! :j Very pleased with that as it makes the nights when I'm so desperate to stuff my face with crisps and remain strong worth it!
Postive things from this week:
1. I had a revelation on Friday that just because someone has brought in cakes (or pork pies which is a popular birthday treat here as we've got an amazing butcher in town!) doesn't mean I should eat them. If I want a cake or a pork pie or anything else, I'm a big girl and I can go and buy one when I want it, not when it just happens to be going free in the office! Quite a freeing feeling when you work in a big office with birthdays on a weekly basis!
2. I've organised a night out with my friends in a few weeks time, I've been wanting to do it for ages but hate the feeling of rejection as they're always so 'busy' with other stuff that it's difficult to get everyone together but I just set a date and DH and I said that even if only 1 other couple out of 6 turn up, we'd stick to it! As it is, we've got about 8 people going and it's all down to me! *proudface*
3. I played badminton yesterday and didn't lose every single game! We play doubles and I'm the worst of the group so it's a given that if you play with me, you losebut I/we won 1! :j I can feel myself improving with my speed, flexibilty and reflexes each time I play.
3 Positive Steps for the week ahead
1. I WILL dig out my Jillian Michaels DVDs and get started on some exercise at home rather than putting it off (see bookshelf clear-out above!)
2. I will find my lost favourite work shoe! How does one lose a shoe in a small flat? It must be in the Cupboard of Doom somewhere!!
3. I will try to have a less eaty drinky weekend as my healthy efforts tend to fly out of the window at 5pm on Friday night!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I saw this on the Alphabetty Happy Chatty thread, and though I don't like chocolate, I identify with the sentiment!(I just lurve spiders!)

Ooh Birdie - well done!!
In a triumph of hope over the laws of physics I've lost 2lb (total 3lb). Not sure how accurate the scales are but I'll take it!
Positive things from this week:
1. I went to the gym! Admittedly only once, but genuinely haven't had time for more than that. And, as ever, I loved it.
2. Using the pedometer again has made me more aware of just how inactive most of my days are. Which kind of doesn't sound too positive but just making me notice it more has got to be the first part of actually doing something about it.
3. I did some guiding training and got something (finally!) signed off in the book (it works similar to an NVQ, in that you gather evidence for about a billion clauses and get people to sign them off when done).
Positive steps for next week:
1. I will go to the gym again - at some point!
2. Am going to see Anton and Erin at the weekend
3. Would it be wrong to say that my boss is on holiday from the end of the week and I'm v much looking forward to it?!0
