Tea, the next time Police baby contacts you, I'd ask him again how you can get his stuff to him without having contact.

It seems to me that the best thing would be to hire a man with a van and send it all to him, getting a third party to tell him the date/time.

I know that means putting you to expense, but it might drum it home that you don't want anything more to do with him.

But do get Police baby to ok that plan of action, or any other, and then you'd need to ask a third party to give him the delivery date.

Haha Pyxis - there are no books in my living room (apart from the one I'm currently reading)! If however you were to venture upstairs it's a different story :D

I couldn't relax in the same room as the clutter. I like to sit in my v tidy living room and pretend the rest of the house looks like that :rotfl:.

Yep! Does anyone remember Monica's cupboard of doom in Friends - my house is like that?! I suppose that's a marginal improvement on the whole place being a tip!

Good idea on the van. Would be happy to pay to get it all sorted, just really struggling for time to do it all at the moment. Am starting to think I might have to take a day's leave and just focus on packing everything.

But Birdie! A saxophone isn't clutter!

    It's a musical instrument!

    It's culture!

    It's food for the soul!

    It's exercise for the brain!

It's a social activity (if you play in a band!)

JM, back me up on this!

Well, yes, but I also subscribe to WaS's view of the world, and that sax is sad not being played (says the woman with FAR too many instruments sitting unplayed in her house). I don't like to think of a sad unplayed instrument!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIRTHDAY PEOPLE! (Can't top the minions video! :D)

    Morning my shipmates,

Blowy here and not raining so washing on the line. I know :rotfl: I hate having wet washing around the house. And now I am in super economy mode don't want to run the tumble drier at the moment.

any way sunk in to a funk. Its so stupid. Might be because I am tired. I got a message from someone who I dated I suppose to call it about 4 years ago. Wishing me happy new year and did I have new man. I replied asking who it was. Told me and I said nope to much like hard work at the moment. And then he replies about wanting to see me. I met him for coffee last year unaware he had a gf and a baby due in a few days time!!! It just made me feel so utterly worthless.

That I can't seem to attract half decent bloke. When I think I have they run off. Its just another massive dent in my all ready crappy self confidence and make me doubt myself.

Any way enough about me. Birthday wishes to SDW and Ginger.

HBS sorry you did not get the job. Melly good luck for today.

Oh something funny to end on. Asked my lodger to give phoebe some more food as he was in before me. Anyway I come in and he asks me to check if she has eaten any food. Nope because he had filled her bowl up with kitty litter :rotfl: well its wood pellets that can be used for litter trays for all sorts of animals. Plank.

Hugs, squishes and handshakes for all. You will find me in the duvet fort feeling sorry for myself.

    Yours

    Calley

    Happy Birthday Ginger and SDW!

The oldest thing I own is a 1938 Biology book, it is huge and very heavy. It is also very special to me because when I was very little my dad and I used to go out to find flowers to press, we would collect one everytime we went on our nature walks. We would press them in tissue inbetween the pages of this book. So whenever I open it it is full of still very pretty but very delicate dried flowers and it reminds me so much of him.

So glad the music centre finally arrived, Pyxis! Really crossing my fingers everything is fine now.

See, HBS? You didn't get the job because you are too good for it! Well done!

I keep dreaming about my grandad since I have been unwell, every night in fact. He died when I was 11 and although I loved him he used to make me feel very awkward when I was young. He would pull me onto his lap and just cry and tell me how sorry he was and that I was beautiful and should be free. It makes more sense now I am an adult and I realise that he had married into my mother's family shortly before I was born, had likely realised how bizarre it was and knew it wasn't very nice for me, but it made me squirm as a child. Sadly, he was very ill from before I came along from working with north sea oil his whole life, there wasn't safety precautions in place back then and he was exposed to a lot of asbestos. He was dependant on my grandmother for his care, otherwise I am pretty sure he would have left. I remember him as very depressed and very anxious, he was very angry with his son most of the time who was brought up on my grandmother's principals but he did truly love me and I could do no wrong in his eyes. He was the one who taught me how to mend old clock mechanisms, he had all the time in the world for me. It's comforting to dream of him.

Glad you find it comforting, WaS.

I dreamt that I was climbing up some stairs, holding the bannister when a rat ran over my hand.

At the top of the stairs (I wasn't holding the bannister at this point), a rat bit my left hand.

    Must google this for fun.

    Good luck, Melly!

How interesting, whitewing! Please tell us if your dream has an interesting meaning!

I did confess to WaSp about my hidden toast incidentally. As expected he told me to stop being silly and has had great fun with it ever since. I have been asked if I want toast at least 10 times this morning, he also woke me up at 5am to check I didn't want any then. I knew he would enjoy it but at least it isn't a point of paranoia anymore and has turned into a joke now! It also somehow morphed into him asking me a string of questions about things I might want the last of which was "Do you need a wee?" This will keep him amused for days.
