Not at all surprising melly - you've had a lot to deal with, it's no wonder at all you're having a 'just hide in the fort' few days. I hope you know it's ok to feel like that - give yourself a break, spend the weekend in bed.

Hope you manage to get some rest x.

Melly, I have to agree with tea on this. Take it easy and don't be hard on yourself as you are a fab!!!

On a side note. My lodger came home with a load of food last night. Not sure how he got it but it came from the local food bank. Plus they give a £5 voucher to the local greengrocers for fresh fruit and veg!!!!

What?! So he's not paying full rent, he's taking advantage of your hospitality, he's buying expensive gadgets he doesn't need and now he's making use of the food bank?! Sounds like he needs some serious debt advice.

Birdie - the plan is still a beautiful craft/music room... I just can't decide which room! I've got two double bedrooms and currently use the front one to sleep one and the other one is full of stuff. I was planning on moving to the back bedroom and making the front one the craft room. But now I'm undecided about whether to stay in the front and make the back the craft room. Pros and cons to both. So obviously nothing happens and I just procrastinate all over the place :D

ETA: to be clear, I think food banks are a vital lifeline and I'm so glad that we have them (but not that we need them, iyswim). But it seems as if he does have enough money, just no idea how to manage it.

It would be interesting to know how he managed to wangle that one. Those food banks are meant to be for people in real need.

He is in a debt plan and does owes lots of money for rent and council tax among other things!!!!

He has no idea about finances. he was off for nearly a year with a shoulder injury. So rather than him stay at home and look after little one and send wifey out to work they both sat on there !!!!!! and ran up debts!!!!

No idea and really don't care. His wife has had stuff from the food bank only a few weeks ago.

I believe that the food bank and debt people are the same organisation.

He went to see the debt people last night and they gave him the food.

Is he getting advice from a decent debt charity? Sounds like he could really do with it.

As well as getting decent advice he needs to bother to follow it. I very much doubt any debt charity would advise paying reduced rent so that you can buy an unnecessary tablet...

Your lodger is a smeghead. Those food banks are for people in real need, not for people who buy themselves tablets.

Sometimes I see the donation box at the supermarket filled with value stuff and I think, maybe the poor recipient of this, struggling to feed their family deserves a little treat so I put something nice in there, like chocolate or nice shower gel or toothpaste or some spices from the world food bit cause with the right spices, you can make anything! If this is the type of person who is benefitting then I'm not doing it anymore.

People like that take from the genuinely needy and make life harder for them. It really grinds my gears.

I believe its a local church that run the debt charity and the food bank.

I don't want to be rude about him but he has no clue. He lets his ex run rough shod over him all the time.

He is now hoover up LOL!!!!

He will not be getting away with anything now. I know I am too soft but I need to toughen up LOL!!!

Anyway need to go and do some stuff catch you all later.
