Just received the Hotter sale brochure.

The Trixie slippers are reduced. The heel is 1.5" rather than 2", but might be worth a look?

They do it in a size 3.

A cobbler might be able to stick a rubber heel on the bottom, to make it a bit higher?

    Happy Birthday Tea! :j

Sorry about the cancelled date last night, what an idiot he is! Ah well, more fish in the sea and all that. If he can't make a 2nd date, it doesn't exactly look good for a future relationship does it? You need someone who makes you a priority! Just wondering though if maybe he's got the PoF app open on his phone but not on it so it show's he's always online? Not sure how it works, but just trying to give him a little bit of slack... ;)

Sorry to hear you're struggling Welly, we're here if and when you need us!

Sorry everything's a bit rubbish right now Melly, I really hope some positive stuff happens for you soon!

Haha Birdie - you're as bad as me for coming up with excuses for other people's behaviour! :rotfl:. That one would be more likely if he hadn't also changed his profile photo last night - which if anything was a help as it's not a good photo!

Typically I'm now feeling like I'm the one in the wrong for calling him out, even though rationally I know that's not the case. If he was that genuine he'd try to rearrange (or at least say happy birthday!) Does make me wonder* why bother lying and apologising though. If you don't want to meet someone you don't have to - so why lie about not being able to?!

*To be clear, makes me wonder in a general, abstract way about people, not him in particular. Clearly this was going nowhere. Just makes me wonder how I am so consistently a bad judge of character. I honestly thought I was doing things right this time - I'd worked out what my deal-breakers are (same faith), I thought I was speaking to someone with the same values and priorities, I didn't rush things physically which has been a major problem with me previously, I didn't follow up when he went quiet. But still I end up with the same outcome of being left wondering !!!!!!.

I can tell myself it's not me it's him all day but honestly I don't believe that.

(((hugs))) to all that need them x.
  • Hiccy burpday Tea! Have a lovely day.

Love to you Melly, let's get those spirits back up :)

Slightly stressed today - I have a sports parent who is doing my nut in. His kid has been training with us for MONTHS, and she competes on Sunday but he won't sign her release form until he's seen our insurance policy and had it explained what legal rights are affected by him signing the waiver. Her team can't compete unless I have that form, I'm hoping he's not just gently torturing me...

    HBS x

Tea, if you had a line-up of ten guys, how many do you think you might reasonably end up have a long-term relationship with?

    The answer is, who knows?
It might be one, it might be five, it might be none!
It all depends on the personalities involved!

Maybe that's why the advice is to chat to more than one at a time, meet up with more than one at a time. Ok, maybe not to kiss them all initially, but at least to get to know.

Maybe that's the key. When you meet people in 'normal' situations, ie work, Judo, choir, archery, rambling, College, etc., you kind of get to know them first.

By going through something like POF, maybe your expectations of falling into a fantastic relationship from the off are wide of the mark. Maybe it's better to view it as a chance to meet guys generally...... Some you might end up being friends with, and so through them, meet others. If you're very lucky, you might, on the wibbleteenth meet, find someone you really click with.

In the meantime, just have fun meeting people, several people, as a means of expanding your social life.

It's your birthday, be kind to yourself! If someone chooses not to be with you, that's their loss and your lucky escape! It's not anything you've done/not done, you're just not suited!

Get on POF and pick out FIVE guys you like the sound of and contact them. Not one at a time, all together! You're not marrying them! You're having a chat and possibly going for a coffee, just as you would with someone new from work, or Judo, or College or the rambling club!

    Go for it, Tea!

Oh I've chatted to loads, believe me! If anything it just reinforces how long the odds are of finding someone halfway normal.

HBS - that is annoying, what does he think he's signing?!
