Alan Rickman was one of my crushes, he was my american friend's crush too and we used to watch his films together. We are both very upset today.

The broken water pipe upstairs is a work in progress there has been much hammering and drilling from the flat above. Now we just need to dry things out.

    I'm sad.

Thanks Pyx - really appreciate the help. I actually meant a standard stand up collar - basically so it looks like a shirt, hadn;t considered any other style so I shall look at those!

Ta Georgie! Bang on, just a little too long (and we can't tuck in coz our belly shows!! but we are getting good at modifying clothes so they might work!)

You know Georgie, just standing still in front of people is far worse than talking to them, so good on you! When you're talking, you're dynamic; your expressions, your body language, etc., there's a lot of movement. Just standing there......what do you do? Do you smile? Look serious? Where do you put your hands? Etc. etc. so you did jolly well! :T

Thank you :) You're right, when you're just standing here, you don't know where to put your arms/hands! They usually live fine just dangling by your sides, but in these situations where you feel abit awkward, you suddenly forget how to stand properly. I went to my usual default of standing with my hands behind my back like a copper, which was quite appropriate actually as the talk afterwards was about the Police! :rotfl:

I know the majority of them and they know me which I think made it easier, and I scanned the crowd and saw this woman who is a good friend of my Mam's and smiled and waved at her so that relaxed me abit.

At the end this guy took some photos and for them I had one arm round my uncle and a cheque in the other which was fine and then we thought he'd finished and started to walk off but he wanted one more, by then we'd lost our pose and I didn't know where to put my arms and so ended up standing like a guy does when he's trying to protect his bits!

I like Pet! It reminds me of "When the Boat Comes In" and that was the first time I'd heard it. Plus it can be used for men and women, and all ages, so is great! I think it's a nice affectionate term, but not so much that it can't be used for eg customers, too.
For a brief time I had a lovely .geordie boyfriend, and he called me Pet.can't remember if he called me Hinny too.
    ?

I love the Geordie accent! :D Auf Weidersehen Pet is one of my favourite shows, I could watch that again and again. I love being called Doll too. My Dad always called me that and so does my Mam. :happyhear

Me too! :rotfl: Your belly shows if you tuck it in?

Meant to say before, tea, it's a pain in the butt when people change plans all the time willy nilly like that.

I'm sure you'll have a great time, but I can understand why you're feeling pretty cheesed off atm. (((Hugs)))

I always thought Doll was an East End thing! I had a couple of East End relatives when I was growing up, and they called me Doll!
