Thank you ono, that was really helpful. I definitely seem to have got stuck in "can't see the wood for the trees" mindset at the moment so some perspective from all of you lovely people is so helpful. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the time you all take to read my witterings and post such lovely helpful replies. You should all be charging! :D

    Hey guys.

    I've been hovering.

I'm bored, badly trained at my job, restless and need to break out an do something different.

Talk me out of a six week, women's stand up comedy course before I ring up tomorrow and see if there are any places left, will you?

Why am I even thinking of it?

I accept Jaffa cakes or cups of tea in lieu of payment. :p

My standard fee for helping friends out with computer problems is a cup of tea, though in the case of one of them I have to make it as he has absolutely no idea, believing that milk and the tea bag can go in the cup together, then add hot water once the kettle has boiled .

I wish I could run, Oakdene! I look like an emu in stilettos when I try. Could you do something to take your mind off things a little? Get in touch with an old friend, print out some running routes etc?

MU, one of my problems is my temper which particularly flares up when I'm tired so I can understand how the situation may have played out. Rest assured that if his mum is anything like me she will have regretted it the minute she opened her mouth, and won't have even considered it being your fault. Maybe try and go back round there when you are feeling strong enough, sooner rather than later to avoid it becoming something you have to keep avoiding? She will likely want to apologise to you, or be too embarrassed to mention it.

I'm nearly finished my flask of coffee already. Not good.

    Good luck Melly!

Not good then melly? All fantastic experience though whatever happens - and they might surprise you. How many of us have thought the same after an interview and then been offered the job recently?!

    Hello, Brighton Belle!
What sort of organisation offers stand-up comedy course? I'm intrigued!
