Tea, I totally agree with Georgie. I was going to say the self-same things!
It wasn't You who gave him a criminal record, he did that all by himself.
And I, too, am extremely suspicious of his motives.

It might help to read your past posts and remind yourself how frightened you were.

In addition, I do feel it would be a great help for you to discuss all this with your minister, particularly the way this recent event has made you feel ..penguin
Especially about feeling guilty for rejecting him when he appears to be turning to God. In all honesty, I think this turn of events from him is really below the belt. He knows how much church means to you. If he has really found God, even in a small way, he will start going to the other church. However, I won't be holding my breath.end penguin.

    Morning all.

Good luck Melly and, as others have said, totally not your faults MU or Tea.

Now, where are the strong coffee and matchsticks which were mentioned earlier?
  • *hands Izadora a cup of strong coffee* Warning, I do like it strong!! Pyxis will provide the matchsticks!

    Tea...and to add......

Well, he might go to the other church a few times, but I would still question his motives.

It's another example of manipulation. He can then say "Look, I've even found God, which she really wanted me to do, and she still rejects me! Good little me has been rejected again by the unfeeling, unchristian Tea!"
That's not love, either of you or of God, it's manipulation.....the abuser making the victim feel that it's all their fault.

melly, all the very best for your interview(s)!

tea, stop worrying about the church thing. Let others (police, minister) make the decision on that. Just ask that they keep you informed. You can pray that they receive the guidance/wisdom to make a decision that is right for everyone.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Im struggling today, struggling to deal with the fact that someone I have spoken to or seen everyday for the last 3 1/2 years doesn't want to communicate with me.

Thanks Pyxis, I needed that reality check! xx

Reminds me of an argument a while ago where he said I wasn't being very Christian as I dared to mention things he'd done in the past that had upset me. In his mind, I should offer blind forgiveness which also included forgetting about it all. Which would be fair enough if it was things like forgetting to put the bins out, but these were things like cheating, going on holiday while I had a miscarriage and blowing off my 30th birthday to go to the football.

The last message from his mum (which I never replied to) said "with your church connections you should show some compassion".
    End penguin.

ETA: Oh Oakdene, I wish there was something we could say that would make you feel better. Can you plan yourself a nice treat for this evening?
