Hugs (((surveyqueenuk))) I know how you feel, I think the same when I hear of someone losing someone over the Christmas period. I've always found it sad, even more so after experiencing it myself. As you say, Christmas/New Year time will never be the same again.
What you said doesn't sound like a cliche btw, it was lovely to hear
I've never heard that saying before "yarbles", but I like it!0 -
Survey - there is always room in the fort for anyone bearing snacks. In relation to your penguin, I think it's just that time of year. Totally the worst time for it but seems to happen a lot.
Tea - I think I do too. I'm far too excited about the idea of corresponding by butler. You'd also need a large envelope for your cheque.
Sometimes I fantasise about winning enough money that I could buy a massive country house that family and friends can stay in for Christmas with a massive tree. Then I figure I'd need staff to help with feeding everyone. Then I feel guilty that my staff would have to work on Christmas day. I even came up with a cover story so nobody would know I won all the money. :rotfl:
I know I'll never win but it's nice to dream. I even have a plan in place for rescuing pound dogs.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
End of contract sounds like a good option Melly.
Georgie, you've got through one significant date so that's a start. Just one step at a time.
I have today fallen down a cattle grid. (Don't ask.) Can't bend my knee and pondering the wisdom of driving back down the motorway tomorrow. Am hoping for a miraculous overnight recovery.
Won't be walking round any sales as planned, and am also wondering about whether I'm going to be able to walk Gitdog. And if not, who is?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Ouch elsien. Have you taken any ibuprofen or anything? Are you RICEing?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Only the R bit. House too full of people to be able to stretch out or elevate it, and the frozen peas didn't occur to me. And me a trained first aider as well.
Possibly didn't help that there was a couple more miles of walk after I fell. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Ouch elsien!
Time to get him a treadmill.
Just brushed tomcat he's gleamy beautifulness
Oh did the early conciliation doobery with acas so am good to go there.
Georgie I echo what surveyqueen said. I am at 8 years now (25th nov) and I still cry sometimes but mainly I smile and feel proud to have learnt my values and have as much of a work ethic and the little sanity I have because I was brought up by such a wonderful man0 -
Anyone seen Fly?0

End of contract or temporary contract sound good Melly.
Georgie, I think the sad thoughts don't really get easier, but they get a lot less frequent and the happy thoughts increase which makes it all more bearable over time.
Thank you for the prod Code. I was planning on writing thank you letters this weekend, but maybe I need to do it sooner.
If I lived close by Elsien, I'd offer to walk Gitdog. I imagine he'd be a dream to walk compared to Little Sod! If not a dream then a different type of challenge!
Not heard from Fly. Maybe she is busy with the new job?
Calley, are you doing OK?
And any other hummingbirds or occasional posters, hope you are OK too!
You've started me off now Melly, think today at work I might just drop my clients a call to check they are OK after Christmas and with the bad weather.0 -
Sorry welly!
Just finishing tea then acas call (it's the next stage)
Calley how's the lodger?
The reference is the most important thing.
OH has healthy minds meeting today hopefully get the forms done for the floating support worker.0 -
