Sounds like you're really on top of things melly, I've got no doubts that prospective employers will see how organised and dedicated you are. Make sure you're resting and eating too please, for us
xx
I need to get out of bed but it's just not happening. Technically I did get up once to feed p cat but I've found myself back here and now it's even harder to move.0 -
When I win the lottery (I'd have to remember to buy a ticket in order to do so...
) I'll buy a fleet of horse drawn carriages and we can all correspond in the most marvellous way with each other!
Melly, I wouldn't worry too much about the reference- employers can't give bad references so they'll either give a standard 'We can confirm that Melly worked here for x months' or simply decline to provide one. My company (a FTSE100 company) don't give personalised references, they simply send a sentence confirming that the person worked here and how long. Bit annoying for people like me who've only ever worked for this company (11 years and counting!).
More hugs for you Georgie, hopefully now that this awful years of firsts is over you will start to find it a little easier. It will still be sad, of course, but you'll start to smile when you think about him rather than cry, I hope.
I need to get my Thank You cards for Baby Bird's gifts done! I had this great idea of sending photos of him playing with the toys though which is easier said than done, he's just a blonde blur in photos at the minute!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Hi birdie they can give what they believe to be a factual reference so they can say I failed probation due to attendance and resilience which would wreck any new role.
ACAS were nice. Have you appealed he said, there's no right to advised on the letter I said. Hmmmmmmmm your conciliator will be in touch in 5 working days.
Healthy Minds next. Then get OH up and off to bank.0 -
Hope you're alright Elsien! I can sympathise today, silly scatty sprollie had a moment on her walk last night, wrapped herself round my legs and pulled me over - I can kinda see the funny side now, but my ankle was so swollen I was terrified I'd damaged it!
Thankfully, a couple of ibuprofen and some RICE seems to have sorted it. It's tender today but I can walk on it.
Moral of the story - don't walk a daft dog without their harness on...
EDIT - My Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit just arrived! Who wants to play?

Thanks again guys, you're all blooming brilliant!!
I have lots of happy thoughts and memories, he was the funniest person I knew! Also the huggiest person, I miss his hugs so much.
Big ouchees to those hurting their ankles and knees! If I lived close by I'd definitely walk Gitdog elsien! I've always wanted to take a dog for a walk. That sounds so lame, but I've always just had cats.
Hope your OH meeting goes ok today Melly
Talking about people we haven't seen in a while, Faith are you still reading? I know it's probably been hard for you (first Christmas without your Mum etc), so hope you are ok?
Ooo I love trivial pursuit! Not sure how good I'll be on the HP questions! Sounds like fun though0 -
If you have time, Cinammon trust are often looking for volunteer dog walkers for older people. I couldn't commit to a lot, so I did a once a week walk in the fields for a dog that otherwise only went in the garden.
And in a fine example of restorative justice, all the annoying presents I've bought the kids in the last year have come back to haunt me.:rotfl:
Melly, keep meaning to ask, are you not in a union? Hope health minds goes well. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
No not in a union Elsien former employer have an employee council which works in the same way and were itching to represent me lol. Was told if anything went to disciplinary get head as representative. It didn't lol.
ACAS were amazed at the handling and the lack of right to appeal only concerned that doing this might screw up future employment0 -
There's no one in my area elsien. I might register my details and then if something becomes available they could contact me. What a brilliant charity0
