Sorry about the job Melly, but it sounds like you've got lots of other options
Thanks for the help Code, I have managed to fill out a claim for my phone so can get it sent off to be fixed, hope they don't have it too long!
Trying not to panic too much about Christmas... still feel like I have loads to do!Trying to sort out some pressies for Baby Bird, and found some fun Star Wars RC toys that DH and DS can 'share', do I be somewhat sensible and buy Yoda or get carried away and say screw the budget and buy BB-8?!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Glad you've got other roles lined up Melly, good luck!
Birdie, as much as I love Yoda, that BB-8 looks a lot of fun! If it's classed as a 'shared' present then I think paying abit extra can be excusedBesides, with Yoda being inflatable I'd be frightened he popped! :rotfl:

Melly
I have a few words I would like to use about the company but they are very rude so I won't.
The very best of luck with the other potential job or jobs. When one of my dd s was badly treated she managed to get recompense (after a lot of legal discussion) and found another job with a salary raise and a company car. Just so glad she is safely away from that lot.
I so hope that 2016 is a better year for you in all sorts of ways. If anyone deserves a break and some good news it is you."This site is addictive!"

is enough to have set the cat among the pigeons at the site (point to telling shopfloor)
also done the right thing in reporting the incident and the fact that its standard practice for them to get people in, in any capacity to circumvent RIDDOR.0 -

Which is just a waste of time anyway as if they're not capable of normal duties it's reportable anyway, regardless of whether they can drag themselves onto the premises.
Really winds me up this one! (and you too I'm sure!!)0 -
Hence my being got rid of tea I made a fuss cos it's illegal and immoral0

I am officially exhausted. Mum helped me wrap presents up today, well all bar hers. stuff for stockings are done. Just got to wait for two parcels to turn up from friends in America. I'm just plain tired. Some days I really hate hyper mobility. I'm forever sorting out my joints lately. And I had an "accident" when I was out. Joys of Christmas right lol.
I am so sorry Melly. My dads previous work place did something similar to him. Called him in and said his services were no longer required and he was on probation anyway. Don't let it get you down. People can be butt heads sometimes.“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Moo - well that tells you all you need to know about that company then doesn't it. But so sorry to hear they are actually that nasty.
Obviously the arrangement of the meeting and the handling of the meeting was illegal, but I know you have enough on your plate at the moment, so probably best to walk away and leave it be. Rant on here as much as you like as it was entirely illegal to call you in for a chat about another member of staff when you are on holiday and when you turn up, it was to fire you.
I for one, am so very proud of you, and as a fellow professional in the same industry I am so pleased to know that there are others who also stick to their morals. I am actually sorely tempted to write to IEMA about it - not to get the company in trouble, but so that they have hard evidence to show advisors being fired if they do the right thing. However poopy you are feeling about it, remember that it is better than ending up with a jail term for incorrect advice and you can sleep easy knowing that you have absolutely done the right thing. I wouldn't be surprised if the shop floor went on strike over this!0 -
Sorry mellymoo, rubbish thing to have happened but proud of you for sticking to your guns and doing what needs doing.
Probation is a bit meaningless nowadays since employment rules changed and there's generally no protection in the first two years anyway apart from certain protected characteristics Or a pay rise, if applicable.
Glad there's other possible options waiting out there for you.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
As you know I would be covered under whistle blowing anyway.
I went straight to the shopfloor so they all know and they know why this was important.
I can't be party to something illegal and immoral so am ok with it honest0
