  • You did the right thing, Melly. Good on you! Employers will really like you for that and you will get a new job easily.

Hope you feel a little better today, tea. I went to sleep thinking of you and hoping that you had a good night.

Pity poor WaSp. He took Milliefleur's gifts over today and she gave him some money to buy my gifts and told him he has to call her tomorrow night and tell her what he bought! He is despairing, he hates shopping at this time of year and now he has to face the shops tomorrow. He struggled enough over his gifts to me, this is his worse nightmare. He is rather grumpy right now!

  • Poor WaSp! At least he should get done good bargains. The shops should have started marking things down, especially if he goes later on in the afternoon.

What's that then? I wouldn't be able to see through mine if I painted them!

Greetings from very, very sunny Athens!

The flight here was very good. Even got a hot breakfast on the plane! In economy!
The pod thing at Heathrow was sweet. Even though the first one wouldn't let me in it, and then took off empty!
    I took it personally. :(
It meant I had to share the next one with some random bod. :( At 5.30 in the morning! It was elevated for most of the way so the views in daylight would be good!

The hotel is weird. It's a bit all fur coat and no knickers! :rotfl:
A wonderful, huge, white marble foyer-come-piano lounge, a lovely rooftop restaurant with incredible views of the Acropolis-where-the-Parthenon-is against a backdrop of the setting sun with Venus and Jupiter shining above, but rooms which are a bit tired, very hot despite the fan being on full, a shower that is one of the most pathetic I have come across, and no wifi OR TV unless you pay for it! TV I don't mind about, but paying for wifi is a pain! Anyway, I've paid for it until Friday night, but I might go the last day without it.

Tomorrow is Acropolis morning , then Cape Sounion in the afternoon.

Funnily enough, the main group rep, although she's married to a Greek and has lived in Greece for donkeys' years, is actually Italian, so I spoke some Italian to her!:rotfl:
Must learn a few words of Greek, though.

The Christmas lights in the city centre are lovely.......blue and white stars and dots of light, not a single snowman, Santa Claus or reindeer in sight!
    (I just lurve spiders!)

    I love

No, you shouldn't panic yet. Up till now you've shown your skills are in demand and you've had people keen to employ you. You have previous good references that are still valid.
You can sign on to tide you over if you need to which will bring something in to keep going on if you have to. Have faith.
Was your call this afternoon any use?

Oh that sounds lovely pyxis, how lovely to have some sun, hope you have a lovely break :)

Waves and smiles I think my husband would be the same, he bought me a laundry basket for Christmas one year because I'd said at some point I needed one, it's still going strong though to be fair :D

Melly how did the call go this afternoon? Really sorry you have this worry right now x

I'd suggest taking some time for yourself over Christmas, but I don't think there's much point, is there? I suppose at least you got them to pay for your NVQ?

I have just done a stealth attack on a snoring Gitdog with the eye drops. It worked once, not sure even he is stupid enough to allow it twice. And he is leaving luminous green snot marks everywhere which is festive. Sort of.
