  • Morning all. After another bad night's sleep, today is our company Christmas meal at lunchtime, I may fall asleep in the starter!

It's a very small company and we all get on well, so it's not the horror that some describe their work do as being. Plus it's free, at a nice restaurant :D

  • I have set my friend up on PoF, I'll get him married off eventually :D

Today is Christmas Jumper Day at work, I have my amazing Labyrinth jumper on.

I'm tempted to stay in it for the party later and hide in the corner. The whispering and calorie-whinging and nigh-on fat shaming in my department has begun already.

I want this week to be over now.

Some people really need to learn the difference between reply and reply all. Am currently watching an email argument being broadcast to the whole company....it's quite funny but very inappropriate.

ETA: inappropriate as it's about an employee getting drunk and sleeping in the office!

One would hope that in this day and age people would know better - the other thing is sending a mail out (e.g. to a mailing list) to hundreds of people to their private addresses and using CC rather than BCC.

I suppose one benefit for me of working for a software development company is that we don't get this sort of thing, we only have one person here that's not a programmer.

Your banter is making me laugh and keeping my spirits up - have now caught the stinky cold, but I don't care too much as I caught it at or after the 2CELLOS gig I went to on Tuesday with hubby and had a fab time. After 1 and a half years of missing everything we had booked due to illness and injury, I was so anxious about going to this gig as I was convinced something would prevent me from going so I was dead pleased that it all went to plan. Big Hurdle for me, so dead chuffed. Now curled up in the blanket fort under a mound of tissues and am coating the fort Christmas tree in snot ( that instantly turns into non infectious sparkly stuff)

Hello tuna! Good to see you! My nativity may have made it to the bath on occasion, just as serious experiment to see if they float of course *cough*

Bathlehem is just perfect, Pyxis! Today's calendar is adorable!

When I was working as therapist I used to tell my clients repeatedly that they had to be honest Welly, which included telling me if something I suggested was really stupid. I always likened it to fishing, sometimes I would catch a trout and sometimes an old boot, but I didn't know if I was on the right track if the client didn't tell me honestly what they thought. Always be totally honest with your therapist, they have no magic cure and need to work with you at all times. Never feel it is wrong to say I can't do that or I won't do that, the therapists job is to find a way to help you by working WITH you and needs will change with every client.

Big hugs, warm handshakes and squishes to all who need them and I hope that this week isn't proving too hectic for people. I would do all of your preparations for next week myself if I could. I sent WaSp to take a food parcel to the local food bank earlier, I can't give much but I put a few Christmassy things in a box so that hopefully someone can have a slightly better time. I have also sent WaSp to Asda to pick up some cheap things like toothbrushes, toiletries and cheap hats, scarves and gloves which he will then drop off at the local homeless shelter. It won't make much of a difference but hopefully it makes a little to someone

Oh !!!!!!...another day, another text from FOH. This time asking if I need a lift to my Christmas do tonight. I have absolutely no recollection of telling him when it was. When I was away last week he text to say he could have fed P cat - I didn't reply to ask how on earth he knew i was away but it was a bit weird. Getting quite a lot weird now.
  • Hmmm, it might be time to cut contact for a while at least, tea. I think I would at this point. There is no reason why you can't be friends in a few months if you want that but for now it might be best to say you don't wish him to text you anymore and tell him that he needs to move on. Do it directly and calmly so it isn't horribly awkward when he comes for his stuff, but make it clear that you want no further contact until that time. I think that is the path that I would choose.

I'm trying! I've tried ignoring all contact, I've tried telling him to leave me alone...just not getting through. I swear, one more text from him and I might have to call his mum!

I don't want to be friends, I just want his stuff gone and for him to leave me alone.
