Welly, (and other parents on here), you might be interested in this, if you don't already know about it.
I was at a Health meeting the other day, and there were some delegates from the Red Cross, handing out some leaflets. One was about First Aid apps that are available, and one in particular is called the "Baby and Child First Aid app"
It contains essential first aid info geared towards babies and children, what to do in an emergency, etc., useful videos, animations, tips and a self-test section.
It's free, from
https://www.redcross.org.uk/babyandchildapp
You can also watch videos on how to treat 20 baby and child first aid scenarios at
https://www.redcross.org.uk/babyandchildfirstaid
Actually, I think I will, too, as it's always useful to know, and firstaiding young children is different from adults.
Edit....I've just downloaded the App and done some of the tests. It's very good! Simple, concise info.(I just lurve spiders!)

I put olbas oil up my nose, and just googled to find it it was a bad idea0 -
Whitewing, did you get round to watching the programmes about psychopaths? I've recorded them but don't want to waste my time if they're sensationalised rubbish. Any opinions?
Eta Gitdog and I are off to his training school Christmas party. Last year he won doggy musical chairs. Watch this space....All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Thanks for those links Pyxis, very helpful. I'll have a read through them.
Loving all the alternative nativity figures! The sh*ter one was a quiz question on a tv quiz the other day!0 -
Doggy musical chairs sounds fun elsien! He'll have to make sure he retains his title this year!
I have finally agreed to become a member of the Golden Sands Polar Bear Club! Which is basically a New Years dip in he Irish Sea! My Uncle did it last year, and has been mentioning it everytime I've seen him since.
He's obsessed by it!
Now, my uncle LOVES dressing up, and he and his BIL are dressing up as the ugly Sisters! He's got his dress already, pink apparently! He wanted me to be Cinderella, but because I didn't commit to doing it straight away, someone else is doing that now. Apparently, I can be the Fairy Godmother :rotfl: He said to my Mam, tell Georgie I've got wigs and everything....my response was 'b*gger that' :rotfl: I'll be doing it for my favourite charity, so I'll wear one of their t-shirts....and thermals!

I don't think the thermals will do much good unless you mean to put on afterwards, brrrrrr just the thought of it is giving me the shivers hope you make plenty for your charity0 -
Yes, I have watched both psychopath programme. They weren't too new to me in terms of the psychology but they were chilling, especially the first one. I think it is the first time I have really seen someone who kind of knows what they are doing is wrong but doesn't seem to have any concept of why it is wrong. I am more used to watching about less recent crimes with American narration so it seems a bit more removed. Within a couple minutes of the first one starting I felt bad that I had even joked about it being 'enjoyable'.
I have made a prat of myself tonight by becoming tearful in front of some people and starting to shut down out of pure frustration. I don't think it will have any long term repercussions.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
