Aww... the dogs are so cute!! I really want a random animal nativity now!
  • Aww, love the penguins and the doggies! They are both so cute!

The nativity ducks do have a religious origin tea, in that the inventor wanted a way to tell the Christmas Story to his little girl. She kept ruining his very old and expensive nativity display by wanting to play with the figures. So he came up with the idea of painting rubber ducks that she could play with, even in the bath!

Oh that's so lovely WaS! My parents get the same old battered nativity set out every year... and every year my dad and I annoy my mum by hiding the sheep all over the house. Including in the bed, in her shoes, and in her wine glass during Christmas dinner

Every single year - we are so easily amused :rotfl:.
  • Hahahahaha! That's brilliant, tea! I would do something like that!

I used to have this nativity set when I was younger and loved it, I have a feeling it may be with the rest of my Playmobil at my folks' house, I need to have a look! Before that we have a cardboard set which was the ugliest naffest thing ever but I loved it and insisted that we had it out every year! :p

You should send the sheep on holiday and get them to send postcards! :D

    I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
    I love

  • Aw, that's so gorgeous, Birdie! We never had a nativity scene when I was young so the ducks are my first one, I couldn't resist them. They also squeak when squeezed.

Brilliant idea! Think one of those sheep will be coming home with me this year... and one of my mum's presents next year will be a photo book of his adventures :D This is exactly the kind of foolish nonsense that we love :rotfl:.

A few years ago my niece and sister went away on a bus trip for a few days. Teddy and bunny (absolute favourites) went to stay with my parents as we thought they were too precious to risk losing on a bus. They made a diary of their holiday with nanny and granddad and it was hilarious (to me anyway!)

    Oh little town of Ducklehem
How still we see thee lie.
I love to hear your squeaky squeaks
    While silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark pools, paddling,
    Your quack quack quacking might
    Awaken Baby Ducksus, so please
    Shut your beaks, alright?
