I was all enthusiastic about my hampers. Now it all seems like far too much work.

Ditto! I was going to do one for my Aunty (lavender themed), but instead put everything in a nice gift box and stuck ribbon and a bow round it!

We're just doing a candle one for the MIL now I think. I say I think, as we have other stuff for her, so it might all just get lumped into one gift box?! :p

Dogs are very adaptable Pyxis. As long as they get love and cuddles and food they will fit in.
    !

It's more about me not coping. The house is so full of stuff, and needs building work done in almost every room, and I simply couldn't bring a new dog into that....it will be a rescued dog and will need a lot of attention, and with the house the way it is it would stress me too much.
So it needs to be......sort house first, then get dog.

Then there's talking about the best way to spend his redundancy. Is it best to pay the mortgage off straight away or what? I hate all these grown up decisions and not being in control of things....i!

I think the advice usually is to get rid of your biggest/most expensive debts, and of course, the mortgage is usually the biggest/most expensive one, followed by credit card debts.

Don't forget this is MSE and there is probably a thread where you can get some good advice, and probably even an article by the Man himself!
I first found MSE when I needed some advice about an occupational pension, which was incredibly helpful, and more recently got some fantastic, quick and productive advice about claiming for a delayed flight.

I'll go and have a little search for you.........

Edit....here's one....if it doesn't already answer your question, you can post the question on the thread.

Aargh - I need another cheque (never did find the cheque book the other week). Haven't needed it for years until recently.

Am ridiculously irritated that I can't order another one online. Stupid bank.

    Here's one for JM! :D

When you get to the link, click on the picture of Beethoven to do a fantastic little interactive quiz of arranging sections of sheet music to make his most famous songs! It's great!

(You have to be able to read music to some extent).

Yep, already discovered. You can do it even if you can't read music as it plays your results to you, so if you can remember the tune you can unscramble it in your head :D yes, I actually was sad enough to get it wrong deliberately to see what would happen :o

Red crosses appear under each section as the music plays incorrectly.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

    Is that all? How boring!

Did you get it wrong deliberately to see what would happen Gingernutty? :D:D:D

I would love a pasta photo frame! I wonder if I could persuade WaSp to make one for me without him thinking I have totally lost the plot.

Sorry sleep was so hard for everyone, I shall lay off the sleepy facts today or you might all throw tomatoes at me! (If you do make them the little cherry ones, I love those).

I discovered window clingons, where have these been all of my life?! Glittery snowflakes that cling onto your windows by static! You can imagine what the flat looks like now. WaSp is at Milliefleur's and I quietly ordered these from Amazon without telling him so it will be a surprise for when he gets home. You may hear him yell Humbug! from the other end of the UK.

Ooooh, a parcel has turned up surrounded by white polystyrene balls. Perfect snow to go around my nativity rubber ducks! Decorating time! (You really wouldn't believe what it looks like in here, I am unstoppable).

code - I've gone from organised to very much not too! It started off so well... and now there's like a week left and I think to need to think of other things for my parents (because my sister is blooming useless) and there's no way I'm going shopping at the weekend... at this rate they'll end up with a picture made from pasta (that's still cute when you're in your 30s right??)

If I tried to make a picture from pasta, it would look like it had been made by a toddler not a mid 40 person....well actually, a toddler would probably do a better job of it than me.

I wish I did have some kind of creative flair to make cheap presents, youngest is an artist and has made some very beautiful artwork for loved ones for nothing (or if that doesn't float your boat, he can upgrade your pc for pennies), middle son is a musician and has composed music for loved ones, eldest can put together videos in an arty farty lovely way that makes you cry they are so full of meaning.

Me? I can bore you silly about marketing, how to deal with autistic kids or help you decipher forms/essay requests/coursework queries but creative? Nope!

I used to crochet, hands are too bad now. I used to be able to cook lovely little things, can't do that now due to my health issues, used to be able to dance (although pretty hopeless for presents) but again, the mobility stops that.

Pretty good at sourcing cheap presents though, done all 6 of my two siblings children for less than £25 in total.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
