Dogs are very adaptable Pyxis. As long as they get love and cuddles and food they will fit in.

    Good news MU!

Code, you don't have to have the new job just because they want you. If you are happy as you are there is no harm in staying. I've wished I'd stayed at a job before. See how the test/interview go and decide from there.

Faerie, I know it's the last thing you want to hear, but have you considered dropping the compliant? Not because it isn't a genuine complaint, but because I fear that until it is resolved (which could take years) you won't be able to move on and care for yourself. You need to put yourself first and focus on your recovery.

Tea, could you just keep contract very minimal? Don't mention the presents and if he does give you anything just say thank you and change the subject.

Exhausted and full of cold. Yuck!

Got to pick middle son up from uni today, gone into OCD overdrive about doing the journey....is it normal to virtually drive the journey via Google maps/earth?

    Nope, didn't think so!

I've got a blooming sat nav in the car too.....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sue, I do that for every drive I have to do! I swear I could draw some of these maps before I even set off I've studied them so much. Hope it all goes ok and you're all back home again soon x.

(((code))) the job thing is scary, but it could potentially be good scary. But yeah, just scary at the moment so am sending a gentle little squish and a packet of jaffa cakes your way.

faerie - have nothing useful to say but want you to know that you're very much not on your own. Hope you managed some rest last night, take care x. ps - a friend with a steam shower sounds awesome!

MU - great news on the changed hours. Boxing day can be a bit of a bust anyway.

Thanks for all the FOH advice people. The nicer he's trying to be now the more angry it's making me. He behaved appallingly when we were together, and when I finally get my act together enough to tell him to get lost he suddenly reckons I'm the best thing since sliced bread. It's really peeing me off!

Sounds like the sort of thing I'd do Sue but that'd be because I'm directionally challenged. I even do it for bus journeys so I know what to look for at my stop. :rotfl:

Hugs and a velvet blanket for you Pyxis. Is it something you can discuss either on here on by PMing someone? Have some hot chocolate and croissants.

Vitamin c and hot lemon and honey for you Welly.

Strangely enough, tired now. I am counting down to Christmas holibops.

:rotfl:Would someone like to share this concept with Gitdog - little floozie'd go off with anyone who gave him food, fuss or a combination thereof.

Another flying visit, not had chance to catch up yet, engineer coming tomorrow - hope tinternet gets sorted or it'll be too late for my online shopping and I'll have to go to proper shops.

Totally normal! D does it every time we're going somewhere new. He needs to visualise it in his mind. Then when we get there he's like "right, there's that bridge" or "you go past a church on your left" etc. Hes actually got a pretty good sense of direction, but likes to get it all organised in his mind.

I love my sat nav for long journeys, gives an extra piece of mind when you haven't got a damn clue where you are! :rotfl:
  • Hugs (((faerie))) some good advice off Welly there, but also I can understand why you don't want to drop it. But in the long run, you've got to do what is best for your mental health. So it might be something to think about?

Hope you're feeling better soon Welly. Keep hydrated and wrapped up warm. :)

Yay to getting New Year off MU!

Lol'd at Pyxis post with advice to code! A good way to look at it! All the best code, hope it goes well, as it's all experience even if you don't decide to take it.

Tea, I agree with the others, ignoring the texts is probably the best way to proceed. Are you still wanting to be friends with him though? Or do you want to cut ties completely? It's probably the time of year making him more sentimental than usual, and he's hoping it does the same to you!

Oh, and Pyxis, totally get a dog! I've always been a cat person but recently, I've been really wanting to get a dog. We can't because of the cat, but if you do, I can live out my dreams of a dog through you! :p
  • Was in town yesterday and it was really Christmasy, but I'm still not feeling it this year :( I do love all the sparkly lights, all the choir singing and the cosyness of this time of year, but for me and my Mam, we're just not feeling it this year. We're going through the motions but that's about it.

A guy dressed as the grinch was running round the town! His costume was spot on, even down to the facial features, he really nailed it! He was going round town grabbing people for a photo, going in every shop! He even got the accent right. He was pretty awesome actually, but I was like 'don't come anywhere near me!' :rotfl:

Santa was outside Tesco in his sleigh and the male voice choir were singing. So yeah, pretty Christmasy!

Stocked up on the rum butter too, I love that stuff!

I missed the rotary club santa on his sleigh this year - gutted! Although for some reason it always makes me cry. As does the carol concert, the crib service, the merest mention of "little donkey" :rotfl:. I don't know what it is about Christmas but it makes me very over-emotional.

There's some amazing Christmas jumpers on display in the office today which is making me feel a bit festive - roll on lunchtime when we have hot pork rolls, secret santa, Christmas music etc. :D

Re. FOH - I had initially assumed that we'd stay friends. It's weird to think of losing all contact with someone you've been with for so long. But after I had some space I began to think that actually no contact at all would be quite nice! (I feel bad for saying that). The scales have well and truly fallen from my eyes and I just have no interest in speaking to him, I don't actually think he's a very nice person - he's still making this all about how sad he is and trying to manipulate me. Just want a fresh start and a quiet life!
