I cannot sleep and I don't know why. I am not worried about anything, not poorly etc etc. But my eyes and ears hurt because I am more sensitive when I am tired, and there are dark shadows howling in the distance. (Which is an improvement as usually at this stage they would be circling closer).
Consequently I have had a big window of opportunity this morning to do loads of things before I go out and I have done very little. (I mean nothing). I now have an hour to squeeze in something productive.

Good luck for Welly, I hope it goes really well for you! I am sorry to hear about your family member, I was in a relationship like that with my first boyfriend. It took me long time and many repeated attempts to leave. The only reason I did eventually leave was my psychotherapist who had been with me for 6 years told me if I didn't she would cut off my sessions, she told me to choose health or what I was in but I couldn't have both. She had never, ever threatened anything like that before and it shook me up enough to realise I must be in a really bad situation (she knew it would do, she was sneaky).
Well done on the cheese cheese toastie, Melly!
Hahahaha tea, I have memories of drinking on a school night when I worked. Oh, the misery of a hangover at work. It did enable me to find the best hangover cure in the world though. We used to keep a stock of meal supplement milkshake drinks in case residents had upset tummies, out of desperation after throwing up one too many times I tried one of those and it fixed all of my symptoms within half an hour. I started buying them myself after that and they worked everytime.
Crushing on friends can work sometimes, it's how WaSp and I got together!
There is one corner of the oven door which is see-through glass, the rest is brown murk. I figure I will do a bit a day and try to get it done by the New Year although it's really annoying me now because there is one clean patch. Your oven sounds like my shed WaS! We started to build it and it's been too windy to finish the roof

Does the glass come out of the door? Mine has clips at the bottom so I can slide the inside glass out and then leave it soaking in the sink.
If not, I find Mr Muscle oven cleaner very good at breaking down the grease. Just spray it on, leave it for half an hour and then wash off with warm water.
Tea - I can sympathise with the school-night drinking problem. We had our work Christmas party last night so I've had very little sleep and am feeling a bit delicate. Also, slightly TMI, despite drinking about 3 litres of water I haven't been for a wee since about 7am!!!0 -
Here goes one of my odd little stories that I have to tell because they get stuck in my head.
When I was 17 I had a job in a nursery before my sixth form day started that my teacher friend's wife had set up for me. I would arrive at 7.30 until 9am every morning for the children who's parents needed to drop them off early. This meant getting a bus every morning at 6.30am with those who I came to think of as The Bus Stop People. I was still living at home and my life was pretty awful, I had no friends and was very lonely. Gradually, myself and 4 other people who queued for the same bus every day started nodding to each other, then began complaining about late buses and finally holding conversations. I started to really look forward to standing at that bus stop every morning, we would all joke and laugh, sometimes share bad bits of our life and sympathise, in a way we all became friends. If one of us was missing one day we would all notice and check they were ok the following day. For over a year The Bus Stop People were my social life and I am really grateful to them, they would never have realised how much their company meant to me.
Never think you aren't making a difference in someone's life even if it is just a smile and a few words at the bus stop every morning. I thoroughly looked forward to seeing my little tribe of people and I felt included and missed when I wasn't there, seeing them was a highlight of my day. Never discount the little things that you can do for others, it can make someone feel so much better.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oooh, I didn't think of taking the glass out, thank you! I shall get WaSp to check it, that would be so much easier!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Afternoon my lovelies,
Just been in to town to drop some of the decluttered stuff off to the charity shop. Waiting outside as they had shut for a few mins. And some very drunk young man with no idea about personal space. Decided that he had stand right next to me so his body was touching mine  I turned around and pushed him away. Went in to the shop waited for a min. Thought he had gone but sadly not. My car was right outside got in and then locked the doors. When I went to pull away he stood in front of my car.
I was not scared as it was day light but I can see how it can be scary and how it could have escalated. There other shops around and people but at night a woman alone and two drunk blokes as he has mate with him who was stood back out the way.
anyway I hope everyone else is ok.
Hughes and squishes and handshakes and some oreos chucked in for good measure :rotfl:
