Anyone with experience of job agencies? I was put forward for a job, they asked for more info and I was told they want to move quickly, gave the extra info the next day. Not heard from them in almost a week. I presume that means they're not interested?

I found with agencies that they only got back to me if I'd got an interview, otherwise they'd put my name forward for a role then drop into a black hole and I never heard any more. Don't take it personally, it's how they work. They're on commission for placing people so it's a waste of their time (as they see it) to spend time giving feedback to unsuccessful candidates. On the other hand, I still get occasional calls 12 months later about potential new roles, so stick with it if you still want to look around.

My bete noir on the alcohol front is martini after a three legged student pub crawl that nearly landed me in hospital with alcohol poisoning. I just have to smell it now and I feel ill.

Code, it's perfectly natural. Can't remember if I've ever posted about my eternal crush(I probably have!) We worked together for years and I always fancied him, but we were both with other people and just good mates. It was only ever a pleasant daydream. A few months ago a group of us were out, one of the very few times I ever drink these days is with this group of friends. I had one beer and got awful hiccups (terrible lightweight lol). In an attempt to shock the hiccups away my mate leant over and whispered "I want to kiss you". I swear, that one comment was more exciting than some relationships I've had :rotfl:.

Obviously nothing happened, and never will. We have some occasional flirting, some bit-too-long hugs, I'm like a giddy teenager when he texts me....that's it. The reality would no doubt be awful....instead of talking for hours about books and politics like we do now we'd just be arguing about putting the bins out.

I have no idea why I just rambled on about that:o ignore me!

    e!

The question is though, did it work? Did it cure your hiccups? :p

Just woke up after falling asleep on the sofa, and now I'm not tired

Mine is cider. Tastes the same coming up as going down.

That elephant/ball thing is really good. I bought one for my brother's friends once and it was much appreciated.

    Oh look, I got distracted:

  • OK guys, you are amazing at finding clothes and presents, now here's a challenge for you.
    I want a small duvet.

I can find masses of duvet covers for bunk beds, but I can't find the duvets to go in them! What about caravans etc, where there just isn't the room to have a full width duvet on a narrow bed? Oh, and I want down or down & feather at Argos price too.

The current single in use is just too bulky and wide. I may have to resort to halving a double one, but surely this is not an unusual need?

    Thanks all.

Struggling, mainly work stress, which in turn has triggered bipolar/depression stress. I'm going to hide in the fort until i feel more human. :((feel free to throw crisps in my general direction)

Flinging in quavers and wotsits (my favourites).

Solarjunkie, from a quick glance at a forum or two, have you thought about keeping the double duvet and having duvet above and duvet below? It is supposed to be more comfortable.
