Also, I don;t know if it is the weather but I have been having real trouble getting hold of people on my mobile this weekend.

    That I'm being daft.

Still feel like I should have done more.
Might suggest random visits over the weekend nights
  • WaSp is doing much better. His foot is very itchy where the vein burst, the itch is inside his foot which is apparently very annoying. He still has to keep a thick plaster over it for another month because he mustn't bump it but it has healed very well. His blood pressure is dropping, he goes back next week to have it tested again and to see if they need to increase the medication. We hope that he will be able to drive in the next few weeks, Milliefleur misses him.

Eeeek! Glad Escapette's problem resolved itself Welly, unfortunate that it was over your leg!

Not your fault, Melly! I am sure your Director will understand that. Glad it was nothing serious.

Won't that just create additional stress for you though, unless they are few and far between?

Why don't you ask the workers for suggestions as part of a review of the accident? They may come up with something that is sensible, easily implemented and makes everyone look good.

I'm guessing you're not meant to be on call 24/7, 365 days a year? And if you are, you shouldn't be. (I know this because taking work calls and feeling responsible even when I wasn't at work led in part to my stress and hence to giving up the job.)

Sometimes people do something silly even when they are fully aware the procedures say otherwise - accidents happen. Doesn't make it your fault.

When littlewing had constipation as a tiny baby (not often), we used to squeeze an orange onto a teaspoon and give her a spoonful of juice. This was on the advice of the health visitor.

We had some poops that we called 50-wipe specials, so I do feel sorry for your leg!

    Not on call at all.
I live 30 mins walk or 7 mins in a car.
Suggested as short term measure as last 2 (non related major near misses) then this all happened on that shift. I think it's no management on site related.

    .

Then don't feel guilty about missing the call - my phone wouldn't even have been on. It stays on for my working day, and that's it. Other people get paid a lot more to manage the issues - that's why they're directors.
I'll get off my soapbox now. :)

Then the changes need to be made with the management of that shift. Otherwise you end up with people behaving when they see a safety person around, then thinking different rules apply the rest of the time.
