  • Is android the little green robot? If so, then it's one of those!

Flybaby, maltesers wouldn't survive two seconds on my belly. Little Sod is on the prowl! He has been helping me make a casserole. He eats all the veggie trimmings. Offer him a steak or a carrot and he would go for the carrot. Weird dog!
  • Flybaby - don't worry, I'm like that too! Different capabilities in different proportions every day. Just remember that overall you have progress, and rest days are something that we need in order to stay balanced rather than spiralling downwards.

You're 6 years older than me and I don't think I've ever owned cassettes! It was all CDs for me. And then I ran out of room.:o

I have a bookcase full of CDs, probably 500 or so, plus perhaps 100 vinyl LPs and 12" singles. Another bookcase full of DVDs and BRs and five more nearly filled with books. I'm 46 though, so have something of a headstart on you!.

When they are all full I have a problem as I have no room for more bookcases in my little bungalow

Yes, so you'll probably have something like "Play store" on it to get apps.

Welly, it really is easy to get music and stuff onto a tablet, just do as Code says! :) There will even probably be a load of tutorials to teach you how to do things like downloading music to your tablet on Youtube! There are tutorials for everything online now! :)

I used to have hundreds of CDs and DVDs and books cluttering the place up... it's all been turned digital and I got rid of most of it. I miss the physical presence of it all, but love the space! ;)

Good evening all! Thank you for the reassurance about the allergy testing tomorrow, it doesn't sound like there will be scabbing from what you say so that's fine, scratching me isn't a problem at all, resultant scabs are! I checked with doctors surgery today that I could stay out of the waiting room and the lovely nurse who always deals with me said she would allow me to sit in her practice room while we wait. Once, after taking blood for my thyroid test she spent her whole coffee break with me asking how it felt to live with schizophrenia. She had treated patients with it but had apparently never met anyone who felt able to discuss it in detail, she was fascinated. We have always got on very well ever since. She will look after me.

Aw, thank you Pyxis and Calley. I didn't mean to make you cry, Calley! It is in my past now although I am still very scarred, I always will be but I changed the family pattern and I am proud of myself for that.

Hello Joan! So glad that things are going so well for you! That really made me smile!

The internet is still working, Welly! It must mean you are doing well!

I know you did not. And yes you have broken the pattern but it saddens me greatly that there are people out there like that.

You have come a long way and you are right you should be very proud of that.

    Yours

  • It is sad, Calley. What was particularly sad in my families case is that it wasn't just one person affected, my grandmother made her own children very disturbed which then made me very disturbed as a child. Then the strain of looking after my mother and myself each with our own problems resulted in my dad ending his life. It IS sad, it had far-reaching affects which should never have happened. But it's over, my uncle has never had a relationship nevermind children, he wasn't capable so he hasn't continued the pattern and I broke away from it whilst still a teenager. I often wonder how far it went back, there was a lot of mental illness and very odd thinking in my grandmothers family, who knows, perhaps her mother did the same to her?

I was very lucky in that I had so many professionals around me when I was young pulling me back into reality and making sure I was supported, they undoubtedly saved my life as did walking away from family when I was 21. I still carry guilt over that but it really was going to result in my suicide if I had stayed in contact, I was completely burnt out and had nothing left to give and no tolerance left. I was almost certain that if I left that it would result in my mothers death and yes it did, but it really was a question of her or me at the time. I still wish it could have been different for both of us.
