WaS, it's not silly at all. It's perfectly understandable to feel empathy for someone even if you don't know them. It just goes to show what a lovely caring person you are0

What Georgie said WaS. Could his students write to the Dean and tell them how brilliant he is?

Aw, thank you for understanding, not quite sure why I am so upset really. I think it is that he really helped my friend when she was going to give up the course due to her depression and he told her to trust him and he would get her through it. He gave her out of hours one to one tuition and now she is getting top marks in every exam, he did it for a few other students, too. His class have elected representatives and 3 are going to see the Principal on Monday to put their side of the story. They have also collected $70 so far to buy him a thank you gift. At the very least I hope he realises how much he is appreciated by those he teaches.
I'll never meet him but I care because he cares for his students and makes a huge effort for them. He is a very good teacher and very good psychologist. trying to catch up (aplogies if i have missed anyone out **hugs and squishes to you*** )
welly-don;t be worryign about it being a lie, i have never ever seen it that way, my workd didn't end when i found out, i loved the idea behind it and the magic feeling it gave me as a kid, i have 3 (much) younger siblings and i loved carrying on with father chrstmas when they were little, once i knew i used to help my mum sprinkle icing sugar and bite off carrots (and she used to drink the sherry), none of my siblings ever felt they were lied to. Plus the tooth fairy gave us £1 per tooth so between 5-7 that was a lucrative deal
But if you're not comfortable with it don;t feel you *have* to do it

WaS-its understandable that you were upset for your friend, you obviously care for him a lot and nobody wants bad things to happen to friends or see them unhappyThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Had a crap day at work, it was busy and i was stuck on the till for 8 hours (which generally drives me insane). Not helped by being unable to buy food on my dinner break so had to survive on just caffeine. Also had an older (possibly homeless, he smelt like he might not have had access to a shower) guy have a go at me for sitting the the disabled seat on the tram. I did try to explain that a)i have a disability pass and b)that i was feeling unwell (very packed tram and i felt myself zoning out and getting panicky, plus i felt dizzy from my meds) and i was sorry but needed to sit down. Felt like crap as i would normally offer my seat up but i honestly felt if i had done i'd have had another panic attack like last week and i really couldn't cope with that on top on feeling so crap from being at work. Am i a bad person? probably. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

MessedUp, you absolutely did the right thing! Very proud of you!
Don't blame the guy. He did the right thing, too. He sees a young, pretty girl with (what colour is it at the moment?) bright hair, sitting on a disabled seat, and objects, on behalf of disabled people, to what he sees as an abuse. (Remember that a lot of able people, very often young ones, do use these seats, which is fine if the bus isn't full, of course. Some, however, don't give up the seats when the bus is full).
Now, he may have been wrong in the tone he used. He should have asked you politely if you were disabled. If he didn't, then that was wrong of him, but he was right to query your use of the seat.
You, however, were very, very good. You explained calmly that you had a disability pass, that you were feeling unwell and needed to sit. Absolutely the right thing. :A
But equally, do not in any way feel guilty. That's why you have your pass, so that in circumstances just like these, you will not get more ill. Your pass enables you to travel on public transport without having to worry about feeling ill. That's exactly what it's for. Without it, you might not be able to travel on transport some days, which would be incapacitating, and might stop you being able to work. So you must carry on using the seats when you need to.
Of course, you give up your seat when you're feeling fine! But when you're feeling unwell, you must sit down. Be kind to people who query your right to sit there, though, but on no account feel guilty or worry about it, as there's nothing to feel guilty about. :A
I hope you're feeling better today.(I just lurve spiders!)
