What's up, Katy? :AETA: WaS, I totally read your post as you were friends with WY's mum and Dad! Was getting very confused :rotfl:.
So did I! Is that not right? Will go and re-read.........
Nope, it still reads that you were friends with his Mum and Dad! Wow!
I didn't know he was gay until he came out!
How did the concert go, Tea?
Was there heightened security at the venue?(I just lurve spiders!)

I read WaS' post the same way until I re-read it
I think WaS is just saying she had a (secretly at the time) gay friend who fancied WY and they'd watch Pop Idol at said friend's house!
Did you get to see Will last night Tea? I was a fan of his from day one on Pop Idol, was never in the Gareth camp!
Hope you're OK Katy. It's OK to have bad days, try to do something to relax a little today.
Sorry that work's putting the pressure on MU. I get really annoyed with workplaces doing things like this as it just encourages the spread of bugs as people come in with contagious illnesses and pass it around. I'm forever telling people who are coughing their guts up/complaining of having diawoowoo etc to a) go home or b) stay the hell away from me! If they weren't so worried about work penalising them for a couple of days off here and there we wouldn't have so many other people coming down with the same thing all the time! Sucks how a couple of pi55-takers make it harder for the rest of us.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Oh yes I see! It was the friend who was gay and it was the friend's mum and dad!:rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

We did get there in the end, took a while but very much worth it! V tired today though, am not cut out for school night late nights.
I'm really starting to not like this job! My boss is just some micro-managing fool who is seriously doing my head in now. No wonder he can't keep a team. I've been here less than 6 months and he's already gone through 2 administrators and is now interviewing for a third. Just had another email of something I've done wrong. Think I might have a cup of tea and a browse of the jobs sites to calm myself down!
You ok Katy? The fort's looking v comfy today if you need an escape.0 -
Would it be worth having a face-to-face chat with him, to let him know how you're feeling? He might not realise that constant criticism is wearing you down. It's easy to put criticism in an email, especially if you don't take a lot of care to word it well.(I just lurve spiders!)

MU - sorry about your work policy. Mine have one too - it flags if you go above a certain (low) amount of days even if you have a fit note or have been in hospital. The Union are looking into it because they believe it's detrimental to staff with stress and/or MH issues e.g. if you're off with stress, worrying about hitting the trigger point is only going to make you worse. Also, working with food means there are certain conditions you shouldn't go in with - who wants food handled by someone with norovirus or even a heavy cold?
Tea - I've had managers like that. One in particular. If I stopped typing for even a second (I may have been rereading something or fact checking) she would instantly pop up at my desk saying 'What are you doing? '. I even got told off for wearing too much black, then when I started wearing colours, they were too bright. I didn't stay there for long. Hugs.
Hugs welly.
The stressful work situation has been put on pause. That means I can actually get on with the part of the job I like and that makes me happy. Everyone wonders why I've never gone for promotion but the truth is, I hate meetings and dealing with management and I'm happy just sitting at my desk writing code.

I'm lucky that we're not based in the same office, or I wouldn't have lasted a week!
Just doesn't seem like we're on the same wavelength about anything. I think I know what I'm supposed to be doing, but it's never quite the way he wants it. Hard to explain as it doesn't come across as criticism as such, more that I seem to be a constant disappointment. The business is a complicated structure, offices all over the place. I've got no idea who to contact etc. so often find I'm relying on out of date info. He'll also take ages to get back to me on anything I've done, then go through it to a ridiculous level (I really don't need a director level wasting their time checking margin sizes). I'm spending more and time feeling like everything I do is full of mistakes and I might as well not bother.
Also hate the fact that this new job was supposed to be amazing and my lovely new start, but am starting to hate it as much as the last one. The thought that all work is going to be this bad makes me feel sick.0 -
I'm OK now thank you everyone. Escapette isn't too well and was getting upset and upsetting me. Little Sod was getting upset as everyone else was upset, and he is sick when he gets stressed.
We've all just managed a nap on the sofa though (lovely cuddles!) and are all a lot better now.
I also read that WsS was hobnobbing with the stars!
Hey Kitty!
Faerie, hopefully the operation will improve things for you. Hang in there.
MU, try not to worry too much about sickness. Even if you hit the threshold I'm sure they'd have a job being rid of you without looking like they were discriminating against MH issues. Could you back track and make notes on what you were off with and when? You could then, if ever needed, show the times you were off with MH issues, and the times you were off with other illnesses where you b wouldn't be allowed to work anyway.
Tea, just imagined him being stuck in aa lift with Jedward0
