Arrgh. So annoyed. Got an email saying that they couldn't make the delivery because they couldn't access the building outside office hours. Of course it's outside of office hours you muppets, what did you expect at 7pm? So I contacted them and asked to have it redelivered to my home address as there's a severe weather warning for tomorrow and they said it will take 24 hours to change the address by which time I'd be back in the bleeding office again. So they say they will deliver in office hours tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath and even if they do, I'll probably be at home cause of the weather which means assuming they deliver and nobody steals it while it lies on my desk overnight, I wont get it til Thursday! So really not one day delivery.

So fingers crossed my Samsung doesn't give up the ghost entirely by then!

Don't forget the Vitamin C. I find that if I don't get twice as much as the rda, I get sick more often. Not sure why.

We have the football on. Ready to join in with the French national anthem (even though I'm not French and my accent is terrible)

I have just spent an hour trying to catch a stray Akita. Dog warden didn't want to know unless it was contained - my rather nervous good deed for the day. They're very big dogs when you're very small.

La Marseillaise is a stonking anthem.

Odd happenings in Germany tonight too.

    Was it a friendly akita?

Did you catch it? They are beautiful dogs but I don't think I would have attempted it being inexperienced around dogs. Wouldn't mind a snuggle up with a well-trained one though.

I love Akita's! Well done elsien, I would have done exactly the same!

Nooo, it's my awful grammar! I don't know WY although that made me laugh a lot!

So sorry to hear about work, tea. It sounds like your ex colleagues agree with you.

I have used First Defence too, MU and it really did help. I am going to look for the foamy stuff so thank you, Pyxis! I always get a chest infection ever since I got pneumonia because my right lung is weakened so anything that helps is good.

I had a delivery arrive from Amazon at 10pm once, Code. It's annoying!

I got a freebie today and it is a teddy! This makes WaS very happy! What also makes WaS happy is really strong winds! It is blowing a gale outside and I love weather like this. Pounding rain would make it complete.

WaSp is fine and his doctors appointment is on Thursday for another blood pressure check and more medication. Fortunately the doctors is literally a 3 minute walk away so he can get there. We are both getting a bit desperate for a hot meal, there are only so many cold pies and quiches that one can eat. Other than toast I daren't risk cooking without supervision, I may have to buy a takeaway just so that we can have something warming.

  • Boo to all those having work woes at the moment :(

Glad you had a lovely holiday Birdie, and glad you got to your concert tea! :)

It's always the way code, when you're eagerly waiting for something, it doesn't blooming well turn up. Hope you get your mitts on it tomorrow :)

I didn't know that about antibacterial gels Pyxis. I've got loads of them that I brought back from America. They smell gorgeous, and I use them to try and help keep illnesses at bay, or so I thought! Ah well, at least my hands are lovely and clean!

Has everyone who's entitled to a flu jab had theirs yet? Make sure you have them peeps :) Says she who hasn't been for hers yet!

Oooo what teddy did you get WaS?

    WaS,

Remind me what WaSp is and isn't allowed to do at the moment..

Do you have a microwave? Could you take the microwave in to WaSp along with tinned food eg soup and let him supervise?

WaSp cannot put any weight on his foot for more than a few minutes for the next 6 days, just long enough to get to the bathroom and back really. He also needs to be very careful when standing up or turning quickly because he is on a very high dose of blood pressure medication to bring it down as fast as possible which makes him feel dizzy.

I don't have a microwave unfortunately. I am wondering whether it would be worth buying a little, cheap one now because that is actually a great suggestion. The chances are that I could probably warm up tinned food on the stove without anything going wrong, the question is do I risk it? Everytime I mention it to WaSp he tells me to be quiet because he can feel his blood pressure going up at the thought!

It is a little crocheted teddy, Georgie! A wool company were giving them away as free advertising and I was luckily one of the first 500 to apply for one! I used to apply for free things far more than I do now, I should really make more of an effort. It kept us in toothpaste for 3 years!

Oh oops, flu jab! Thanks for the reminder, Georgie! I was supposed to go to my Endocrinology check up this week too, but of course I can't go because WaSp can't come with me and he can't drive me there anyway. I did cancel it but I imagine the next appointment will be next year. Oh well, I feel fine so hopefully it can wait.
