Faerielight,
I just knew that something was up. I am so sorry that you are finding your hospital stay distressing, but hopefully you will feel a lot, lot better after the operation.
Could you request that the chaplain comes to visit you? Even if you are not religious, it could be good to have someone to talk to. They are usually very kind people and of course will have a lot of experience in this field.
Or maybe there is a volunteer that could come and sit with you for a bit.
Don't be afraid to ask, or to suggest things that may help.
You could also ask if PALS could come (I don't know if they do visit bedsides though).
Other patients are usually friendly, but don't always know how to or whether to approach. Just be careful that they aren't too moany though or they will bring you down.
Also visitors for other patients can like to have a friendly chat with you and their patient. It can be difficult to visit people in hospital as you can run out of things to say so sometimes it is nice to just have a conversation going on around you.
You can also email Samaritans. Do that if you need to talk about stuff that may cause strife if said out loud. You also have us here. You can say absolutely anything to us.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I'm back after my wonderful holiday! Just spent pretty much all day catching up from 2 weeks of chatter!
Tea's back!!! Have fun tonight!
Code - I'm on my second Xperia (think I had a T, now I'm on a Z-something I think?) and I find them great, very sturdy and my latest one has survived being dropped multiple times and being used as a teething toy by DS!The lovely thing about Android is that every phone is more or less the same so there's little stress about switching models (I remember going from Nokia to Sony back in the old days and spending weeeeeeeks pressing the wrong buttons!
).
WaS - your trip to John Lewis made me grin! Well done for being so brave, you were well rewarded!Hope WaSp is doing well?
Big hugs Faerie, sorry to hear that you've got to have surgery so soon.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
hello birdie!! Glad to hear you had an amazing holiday
FL - ww's suggestions are really good. I'd definitely recommend contacting the chaplain if you feel able to. They should be able to point you in the direction of other people to speak to, if you don't think that they're the right person (if that makes sense!)
Tonight might be off before it's started. M6 is closed due to an accident, and some eejits set fire to the train tracks by Coventry so the chances of getting a train to Bham are pretty remote. Everything from my local station has been cancelled until midnight. This might be a sign!0 -
Thank you all for saying hello!!
My Dad bought fallout 4 the other day, and he actually forgot it was my bday on the 13th because he was playing it...doh! ><
I am currently under the doctor due to high blood pressure so I am wearing one of these 24hr blood pressure monitor thingys...they are quite cool :P
Faerielight, I am sorry to hear how you are struggling right now...we are all behind you and rooting for you..keep your head up high and try and keep it together...for your catsthey will be rooting for you too I am sure.

Other than that I shall smile sweetly and say nowt.
Tea! I do hope you get to see Will Young! I've admired him ever since PopIdol, all those years ago! He has such a distinctive voice! He stood out right from the word go!
I've got some of his CDs.
I liked Pop Idol much more than X Factor. It didn't have the hype, for starters, but also the workshops were very interesting.
I also liked Fame Academy for the same reason.
Welcome back Kitty!
Well done on the kitchen, Onomatopoeia! I wish I could do DIY. I have tried, lots of times, but it always goes wrong.
I can't saw straight. However hard I try.
I can't even knock a nail in straight. They always bend. Once I was so mad with the nail I gave it a huge whack with the hammer........and got my thumb instead.Pain! I nearly passed out!
One house I lived in had diamond-lined walls. It must have, because I could never drill a hole deep enough for a screw. This current house has walls so soft, that any hole I try to drill ends up massively too big.
I loathe painting with a vengeance.
I've never tried to hang wallpaper, and in view of the above, I'd better not! I'll stick to AmDram, etymology and Italian! :rotfl:
Mind you, looking at all my tools, you'd think I was an expert! I just like tools! It's as if just by owning them, I might magically be able to use them! :rotfl:
Ooh! Just thought! I am, however, brilliant at putting flatpack stuff together! :T
Faerie, I'm truly sorry you've had such a bad time recently. Let's hope you'll really get the correct surgery and have it all put right at last. :A(I just lurve spiders!)

It's freezing here. Working from home and determined not to put the heating on if I can help it.
I used to be on medication which knocked me out like a light. Now my medication has a slight 'upper' effect which makes it difficult to fall asleep and it's rare that I stay asleep all night. This may be partly due to Mr CP who is a massive fidget/bed hogger/cover pincher. Sometimes I think Lucy and Ricky beds are the way to go. I do get tired and frustrated after a while and I am, as previously mentioned in this thread, a huge fan of naps, to the point where DA dog recognises the phrase "Shall we have a nap?" as his cue to curl up behind me on the sofa and snuggle in.
I also have completely odd and sometimes entertaining dreams. Like the serial killer zoo one I mentioned before. Or the dream where I was the purple power ranger on a coach trip to Copenhagen (never even been there).
Melly 2 -3 hours sleep is not enough. No wonder you feel terrible all the time. You're not giving your body any chance to heal.
I know.
I am a ridiculously light sleeper though and home stuff means it's 1 before I lie down then takes a while to switch off and up at 5am for work at 7.30am (curse the jack Russell monkeys and their need for a good walk)0 -
Pyxis, I much preferred pop idol and fame academy. If I ever get there this evening the support is lemar, from fame academy many years ago. I gave up with x factor a long time back, just too staged.
If you want a laugh, watch will Young's audition. He certainly wouldn't get through these days!0
