I remember that advert with the phone going into the envelope code, I cried and wouldn't watch it anymore after the first time! I have a very basic Nokia half smart, half button phone which is fine for me as phone's in general freak me out. I have hardly used it so fortunately it works fine after 3 years. I am with Orange which then became EE and is now TalkTalk on the lowest package it is possible to be on because I really don't need more. I only pay £12 a month and never use all of the free minutes.

Thank you elsien, that is actually a very important point! I know that if WaSp had to stay in hospital this time that there is very high chance I simply would have been admitted to hospital until he came back out. When my flat was declared inhabitable by environmental health and I couldn't live in it my bubbly bulldozer said I needed to be taken into hospital straight away as I had no home. It was only fact that a friend let me stay with her for the night which meant social services had time to set up a hotel for me the following day that stopped it happening.

In reality, if WaSp was taken into hospital my carer would report it and they would likely admit me because there wouldn't be time to set up further carers, it does need to be set up in advance. I shall have a chat with her on Monday just in case, thank you again for making me aware of it.

Does Sim-only mean you're just paying for phone connection? Like the line charge on a landline? And then all calls, texts and internet stuff is charged extra?
    :

You pay a certain amount a month (in my case £10) and that includes so many calls, texts and data, and you just use your own phone. There's different bundles you can choose from depending on your requirements. I use quite abit of data on mine, so that to me was more important than 100's of texts etc.

I thought of that, but (due to the ADHD no doubt) I don't like too much new information coming at me quickly in a rush. I really need to do some research myself first, and then go in, so that I've already got an overview and I know what questions I need to ask.

I just can't face doing that basic research! I did try, about a year ago, and gave up! And that was on MSE! I think I was in the wrong mood!

Part of the problem is there is far too much choice.
I should have another go, but I will have to be in the right mood!

Sim only means just the package without the phone.

So it includes the minutes, texts and however many Mb of Internet access, and you put the sim into your existing phone, or a new phone you've bought elsewhere.
So you need to check the phone is either unlocked or already on the sim network first.

On a totally separate note... the second series of Fargo is a bit rubbish.

Ugh. I just got so grumpy with poor Mr CP that he went to the freezer, gave me the tub of ice cream and went upstairs. Feel bad now.

Spent the last hour playing on Pinterest and planning my new kitchen

I spent hours and hours on the websites of various DIY places using their kitchen planning software before I did mine. It's good fun, although being a small 1950s bungalow the options were limited by the size and location of the room - no open plan kitchen diner for me.

I started ripping out the old kitchen in January last year and am about 98% finished now, so probably don't do what I did :o (which is everything myself, apart from electrics and plastering)

That's actually pretty good going. If that was me, there'd be 2 cabinets on the wall, one secured with duct tape and neither entirely level. There'd be half of one attached because I got frustrated and wandered off, and the sink would live on the floor. It'd be semi painted, semi tiled(poorly) and there'd be more polyfilla than wall.

I put the kitchen in in my last house. It was easier there as there wasn't one to start with (or a bathroom, don't ask!) and it was a long thin room so not a huge amount of decisions to make. I was also a pretty skint 22yr old so buying was easy - cheapest of everything lol.

I am a bit worried that faerielight hasn't been on for a while...

  • Don't worry, whitewing. She posted on a different thread a couple of days ago. Hello Faerie, we miss you!
