Last night and the night before I had some weird dreams. I rarely remember my dreams, so that in itself was weird! I've forgotten most of both now, but in the first one, I was being strangled, unsuccessfully, I might add,
and no idea by whom, but the weird thing was, it wasn't frightening or painful, and I didn't choke or anything!, it was just a fact! In fact, I was watching myself being strangled! And I was fine! It was all very objective, no fear or anxiety at all.
I wish I could remember what came after that because it was all so sensible and matter of fact.
That's the reason why I didn't penguin this. There were no sensations, and it wasn't a horrible dream at all! The rest of it made perfect sense at the time, but I can't remember what!:rotfl:
Weird!
Ok, all you psychoanalysts! Get to work! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Hahahaha, morning Pyxis! I'll give it a try. Strangulation and choking dreams in dreams is usually about your own views/self expression or beliefs being choked and held back, you want to express yourself but you can't because something outside of you is preventing you having a voice. The fact you were calmly watching yourself shows a calm objectivity, you are capable of coming to a logical conclusion about what it is choking you and how to deal with it, you are not panicking. This is a good thing! I could be right or it could be a load of old rubbish!

Had my usual 2 or 3 hours sleep.
OH is struggling at the moment had to miss last CBT so waiting for another appointment his behaviour deteriorated over the weekend cos I was late twice last week.0 -
How do you function on so little sleep - I'd be ready to kill someone, I'm a grumpy mare on less than 7.
Sorry, really not wanting to rub it in for the insomniacs, but I'm interested in how people manage to keep going and remain normal human beings. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Elsien, though I'm not an insomniac as such, I wake a lot, and as a result have felt for years that my quality of sleep is usually poor.
I am sure that this chronic, low-grade deprivation of quality sleep periods has a big effect on my well-being.
On the rare occasion when I feel I have had a 'good' sleep, I feel so much better, but it is as rare as hen's teeth.
Funnily enough, those times when I have known I have dreamt are also better; not quite as good, but better.(I just lurve spiders!)

I think I sleep like you Pyxis - overall there seems to be a decent number of hours, but it never seems very restful. My problem is dreaming too much. My dreams are always incredibly detailed and vivid and I never feel rested - it's almost as if they're wearing me out lol. I do sometimes have nightmares (horrible ones) but generally they're just random dreams. Just for some odd reason I'm as tired when I wake up as if I'd been doing the things I was dreaming about.
Last night I dreamt I had a tour of the set where Frasier was filmed, only it didn't look right at all (was a house, not an apartment for a start). Then I dreamt I was at work somewhere. Flipping knackered now as always but technically had about 8hrs sleep.0 -
Basically what WaS said Pyxis
You're struggling to find a voice and you are suppressing your own thoughts and views. Because you are being so calm about it, maybe that means that it is time to speak up and share those views? This could be to do with the situation at the Am Dram?

Once I'm asleep, I'm a fairly heavy sleeper. I used to wake up for the toilet at least once a night, but that seems to have stopped now. My problem is actually dropping off to sleep a lot of the time. I just lie there and think, and worry, and over analyse things, then before I know it, it's 2-3-4am.0
