Would she enjoy a trip to the theatre, cinema or musical?

Last time my mum went to the cinema was just before my younger brother was born and he turned 40 this year

I will go to have a look at local garden centre and see what roses they have.

I did her rose last year for her birthday.

    Thanks for the ideas though

I have had a look but that is from seed. Not sure how easy it is to grown roses from seed.

    WaS,

Do any of your personalities have mental health conditions themselves? that are distinct to yours, perhaps? (I'm not even sure that this question makes sense).

    Calley,

What is your mum's first name (if it is fairly common)?
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Not that common but she does have a song about her name.

Mind you not sure I have admitted on this thread. But Calley is not my birth name but a name I have chosen.

    Or maybe for Wednesday? :D:D

I'd very much like to know about you sleeping in a cupboard. Was that through choice or necessity? Was it a need to be in a small space, like a womb thing?
I'm genuinely interested, not pulling your leg, and can well understand the need to be in a 'cave'.
But of course, you don't need to say anything if it makes you uncomfortable. :A
A bit of both. It just felt like a safe space, i felt like nothing and no-one could hurt me when i was in there. When i closed that door, i felt better.

I guess it was a bit like a real life blanket fort :o

    Ok
Putting aside the home stuff for the minute (rho OH is devestated by the police response to being attacked which is, well appalling)
New job, hmmm had my end of week one meeting yesterday genuinely got told this "site manager has noticed you were late on Tuesday and Wednesday you were in at 7.32am"
I may have pointed out that as I have already worked 30 mins over on Thursday due to meeting and an hour over on Friday due to meeting they are doing better out of me.

My start time is 7.30 by the way

hi Dragonette, I'm sorry to hear about the DID, it must be so confusing.. I thought I had DID a few years ago but they deemed it BPD and PTSD with high levels of dissociation. I guess when you're young and going through trauma, you can't run away so the only way to cope with the abuse is to split from your body.It is natures way of protecting the mind I think.

I was sexually abused too, by my mother and her male cousin.. it caused my mental health issues and wrecked my life/ relationships etc..I am really struggling at the moment with it all, My mother pain is like a wound that never heals, and I feel so much rage towards her especially as I found out last week that she has cut me out of her will and she is loaded. I guess I always thought that getting an inheritance would be compensation for the abuse and because I'm physically ill and disabled, I crave the security that having a home of my own would bring. I'm so frightened of growing old in poverty..|anyway, regarding the alters or sub personalities, .. I used to have a cpn, she used to say to make a regular time to sit down with your sub personalities , listen to them and communicate with them,. The theory was that if you give them a regular space to hear their needs and feelings, they won't be so disruptive and it makes it much easier to function as a whole. I do think that bit of advice helped me, even though I don't have full blown DID and I am very fragmented.I am still being refused any mental health support and I am really struggling.

I still don't have a date for surgery snd my best friend is still not talking t me as I'm so wobbly, and my urinary incontinence from the medical negligence is getting so bad it is really getting me down and is wrecking my self esteem..I feel like such an old lady at 44.. it seems so hopeless that I will ever find a partner to share my life with, and I'm so desperately lonely. :(
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

    Faerielight,

I am so sorry to hear that you have been abused by the person who should have cared and loved you. Saddens me deeply that there are people out there like that.

I have nothing else I can say apart from offer hug, handshake or a squish depending on what you prefer. And suggest that you come in to the fort where I will have jaffa cakes for all.

Please take care and remember that there are people out there who care even though I am sure there are times when it does not feel like.

    Yours

    Calley
