    Morning all!

Hope the appointment goes well Dragonette! I'm sure that the pysch will just listen without judging, I'd be pretty surprised (and disappointed) if anyone in that profession acted shocked whenever someone came out with something a little odd!

Well done on getting the KFC vouchers WaS! I always think it's worth a quick e-mail if you're not happy with something, and now Millefleur can feast on puddings for days! :)

Ginger, your story did make me laugh! DH and I tried moving one of our wardrobes from what was our spare room into our bedroom, forgetting that we'd built them in the room. We emptied it out, cleaned it etc... got it into the hall and got stuck! There just wasn't enough room to manoeuvre in our tiny hallway (despite shouting 'Pivot!' a lot! :rotfl: ) so we had to put it back where it came from and went off to sulk! :o

Hope Escapee is thinking about moving out Welly!

  • Yay for Milliefleur puddings :)

Had an awful allergy/asthma attack last night, very tense now as I'm on alert for it starting up again :(

  • Thanks Birdie, I'll let everyone know later. The stories about the furniture have made me laugh, it's always a fear when I'm moving! Def don't want to move any time soon.

HBS, allergies suck :( an anti histamine and hope?

  • Thinking of you, dragonette. Don't worry the first appointment with a psychiatrist tends to be as MU says, lots of questions about medical history, family medical history, schooling, career, etc. Things to give them an impression of possible factors in how you feel and to aid to them to understand you a little more. It is a bit tiring because you can have to think back but it isn't scary at all.

Big hugs Melly, hang in there.

Welly! Now? My hooks are on tenter, I tell you! (I bet yours are, too!)

(i remember telling my psych i was sleeping in a cupboard, she didn't even blink..seriously i think there are other cupboard dwellers out there! :p )

I'd very much like to know about you sleeping in a cupboard. Was that through choice or necessity? Was it a need to be in a small space, like a womb thing?
I'm genuinely interested, not pulling your leg, and can well understand the need to be in a 'cave'.
But of course, you don't need to say anything if it makes you uncomfortable. :A

I much prefer sleeping in a small space with solid walls all around me. It's a security and protection thing for me. So sleeping in a cupboard sounds great to me and I have done it before. Even when I have had large bedrooms, I have put furniture or curtains round the bed to enclose it in. I actually think it is quite a human thing - if you look at pictures of cool reading nooks, they are always small spaces to curl up in. Cupboard dwellers sounds cool to me!
  • No sign yet :(

I guess the small space thing is an instinct. I know we have been told to wrap baby up well so it feels safe, and swaddling is supposed to help them sleep.
I guess if you start life all tucked up in the dark then its a natural state to revert back to in times of stress etc.
Probably a similar thing to wanting your feet covered by the duvet at night!

    Gingernutty,

I feel the same. Not just about moving furniture but if anything happened to me fullstop. I some times go weeks with out speaking to my family. And they are not worried. My husband I speak to nearly everyday. I say its for him but really think it for me LOL!!!

I use to think I could home from work on a friday afternoon and until I did not turn up for work on monday morning no one would be any the wiser!!!

Anyway hugs, handshakes and squishes to anyone who needs them.

I have been shopping this morning and noticed that as well as Halloween stuff some shops are putting out xmas stuff!!!

Found my fav run truffles in one supermarket this morning. Normally can only get them xmas. been a pig and eaten both packets!!!! as it was 75p each or 2 for a £1

    Yours

  • I survived! With minimal crying too. So, I'm too complicated for a simple referral to psychology, getting eeg at some point to rule out absence seizures (box ticking really) and bk in 2 months. The consultant doesn't think I fall under any specific diagnosis, and doesn't like MPD/DID as a label. As long as it's in my records, I don't care.

I think sleeping in a cupboard sounds v cosy. I need either small or fairly large spaces - if it's small noone can be hiding in there, if it's large then I can see any that coming. A medium size hallway with lots of doors can be terrifying.
