calley - brilliant news about the CGT and I hope you get the house sorted out soon. I have never said, but your bright and breezy greetings in the morning are a real lift! xxx
JM,
Thank you so much that is so kind of you to say that.
Well evening my lovelies,
I am a very bad Aunty thought it was one of my phews birthday today. Nope it was yesterday
Popped up this evening and got a piece of birthday cake and to play hungry hippos and pop up pirate :rotfl:
Also was a given a double layer box of milk tray for looking after the furries for a week. As I have had very little to eat today I am working my way through the box :T
Popped in see my mum and showed her the snood she knitted for me a couple of xmas ago. A couple of threads pulled and she kindly sorted them out. Had a natter and then home and to bed.
Where I am now. I am shattered. So going to try to and get my head down in a min.
Melly squishes and I hope you have managed to get some food and drink down you today.
Hugs, squishes and handshakes for all of you that need. I will bring the box of choccies with me to share
Right I have the dr's tomorrow to talk to about my general anxiety and binge eating.
Everyone take care and get the sleep or rest you need.
Take care.
Yours

Welcome back tea!!
Lovely to hear from you! I haven't posted myself for a few weeks, but just had to pop on to say hi!
No reason for not really posting, just being abit of a lazy thing atm! First off had jetlag, but only for a few days, and not half as bad as usual, then we both got colds (most be going around, loads of people seem to have the atm) and then just had stuff to catch up on.
We enjoyed the holiday, it was lovely to have a break, but we both agreed that after 6 visits to Vegas, we are well and truely Vegas'd out now! For now, we're over it, the initial wow factor has gone, we've been there done that, and stuggled to find new things to do....AND it rained and was cloudy for the majority of the time....quiet an experience being on the top of a double decker London bus driving down the strip when the heavens open, it was torrential!
Having said all that, we get back and still want to go back again. Once you've been once, it hooks you in!! :rotfl:
Got loads of Bath and bodyworks stuff (although not enough IMO!) and had to buy a new suitcase and a rucksack! Got my Mam a Pandora bracelet and 3 charms for her birthday in December. Had quite a few wins (biggest about $450) on the slots, and still managed to come back with $1400! If we'd have managed to get tot he Outlet shops (long story involving the bus!) then that might not have been the case!
The hotel was really nice and the room was gorgeous, I loved our balcony! Saw 2 shows, Rock of Ages and this Derren Brown like guy. Elton John was fully booked and we never got to see David Copperfield as we were tired after a long day, and it was our last day, so we just stayed in and sat on the balcony drinking Fireball Whisky....which reminds me, I'll have to see if we can get it in this country.0 -
*hugs* for Melly, sending you lots of strengthening and supportive vibes xx
Tea! You have been missed, my dear. Glad things sound like a bit of an improvement
Calley, good luck with the drs tomorrow.
I think I will try to tuck a note under cheeky cat's collar - this seems to be a street of cats visiting other houses. It's quite adorable.
Tomorrow I am being a lovely friend and sitting in the cat sitting home as there will be workmen needing in and deliveries are due. Sadly, the power will be off and its been freezing fog all of today and I expect tomorrow to be the same. Taking warm clothes, a hot flask, extra supplies and 2 microwave wheat bags which I will heat and wrap in a fleece to walk over. You can I don't like the cold and used to work outside! When I stopped work I have a lot of heat pads to this friend, so she's left them out for me to use. Extra cat cuddles help too:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Thanks Dragonette.
Will be alright just a bit low.
Heatpads are great do you find they keep their heat for a decent length of time?0 -
My Mil and I are not close. DH and I felt there was a judgement which found us disappointing. We haven't felt praised and I struggled with feeling tolerated rather than loved for a long time. I think it was accidental; different styles and ways in our families etc. I don't feel my professional life or experience is really understood or recognised. I guess it is that loving and judging us to be successful which we just miss-match on.
I think they certainly love DH. Me, I think they have at times recognised my commitment to the family but I think both myself and my ILs would love to be closer. We just don't seem to meet as adults of equal value and as I've got older I've stopped trying as hard.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Thank you for all the advice, i think deep down my mum will be ok, i've always been the independent child so to speak, i left for uni 10 years ago and never went back! Where as my one of my sisters went back after uni and the other two go back most weekends (i did used to pop back home to see my family, but i didn't have any friends back home where as my siblings do). So i think she'll be ok with it, i shall reassure her it doesnt mean i don;t want to be with them, and that there's reasons why i'd like to try something different, and that of course i'll facetime her on xmas day.
Glad you're both doing ok and have a nice new home seven-day-weekend, sorry to hear you're son is unwell atm, hope he's feeling better soon
WELCOME BACK TEA!!!! :j You have been missed, so glad you're doing ok
Welly i know it will be hard leaving Escapette at first, but she#s in good hands and you'l still get to see lots of her, money wise its better for you, and she gets to spend time with her nan/grandma/not sure what you call her. My mum had to work full time when she and my dad divorced but we still had time together and i was also very close to my grandparents (which in some ways my siblings missed out on)
Calley sounds like you've had a very busy day, no wonder you're feeling knackered! Hope you get lots of rest and that your appointment goes well tomorrow
Melly sorry things didn't go well, i know you've got a lot to deal with right now*hugs*
Glad you had a lovely holiday georgie, i'd love to go to Vegas but then i havent already been 6 times so it would be new for me
i can imagine it might get a bit samey after a few visits
Hugs and squishes for everyone
Also seeing as its novemeber now.....am i allowed to get excited for christmas? I bought myself a rudo;ph xmas jumper and an elf xmas t shirt, and then a santa hat and elf hat! I want to wear them at work but my manager says i have to waitbut i want to wear them nooooooooooowwwww *stamps feet*

MU, your post made me smile, thank you
Melly, I find the heat pads are pretty variable. Some keep hot for about half an hour and some are closer to 5 mins. The bigger, more heavy duty ones are def worth it working outside. Our breaks rarely included heat or hot water (yes, completely illegal) so heat pads were fantastic!:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
"Glad you had a lovely holiday georgie , i'd love to go to Vegas but then i havent already been 6 times so it would be new for me i can imagine it might get a bit samey after a few visits"
I always think that you'll never recreate that first time, it really is amazing and you're in awe at everything. It's still amazing, but less so as the novelty wears off. Although I guess that could be the same for a lot of places?
I'd love to go with someone who had never been before just to see their reaction! (Team WaS visit anyone?!!) That's why I wanted MIL to come with us....although with hindsight, WHAT ON EARTH WERE WE THINKING?! We were knackered with all the walking. Even walking round the hotels is tiring after a while, she would never have managed it, it would have been too much for her.
Will try and read back and catch up tomorrow0
