Hahahaha! I love Gecko's! One of the strangest things about Florida is that they have little lizards everywhere like we have pigeons. They are just there in any undergrowth, sitting at the side of the road, running about in your garden. When I wasn't with the ferrets I was sitting with them. If you kept your hand very still they would climb onto it and sit there with their eyes closed, basking in the sun.
I had a friend who had an iguana which I adored. They like warmth and luckily my hands are always very hot so she would sit completely still on me for hours. It just isn't a good idea to make them jump while you are handling them because they then scrabble and their claws are like tiny knives.
I also really want a tarantula, I cuddled one once and fell in love. Sadly, I can't see me getting that past the landlord either.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

What's going on with all the exclamation marks on MSE?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
That's really interesting whitewing, especially as I have immune disorders which occured at the same time as schizophrenia did.

You can change font colours and font types in your signature! I am sure everyone knew this already, but for some reason it didn't register with me until I looked at yours, Pyxis. That's nice! Blue and mauve. My faves!
Talking of changing fonts, it annoys me that I can't do that, or even underline or boldify words in an email. Wonder why?(I just lurve spiders!)

Oooh, you can't? It could be your settings, maybe? I have all the bells and whistles on my email, including stationary and hundreds of small animated animals. I actually pay for it but I was very lucky because I took a lifetime offer 10 years ago, £11 for the year. As long as I continue to make payments it stays at that price, for new subscribers it's £44 now! It means I can make my emails very pretty, I don't get any advertisements at all, I get all kinds of themes to also make my inbox pretty and I have 24 hour live chat which has been really handy on occasion because customer service for email is notoriously hard to get hold of. It also gives me an extra level of protection because if my email is hacked they have bank details to verify that it is really mine.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

(In fact you can, although the mechanism that allows it is a dreadful bit of bodgery that should be banned, but I have lost the war on that one.)Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

Yes please! It's been a mystery puzzling me for ages!
It also drives me mad that I can't put the emails into proper folders, like I used to be able to do on my old iMac. So my emails are always in a mess and hard to find stuff.(I just lurve spiders!)

He sounds great! I love dotty animals!
My second dog was weird. She used to climb up walls! When she was a pup she looked like a bear cub and I was sure she was half bear! She used to sleep with her bumm halfway up the wall! She used to eat the wall too!
Maybe she was half wall?
Actually, instead of a hamster, why not a fancy rat! They're so intelligent! Tell landlady you're getting an 'amstair' though! Rat might freak her out! Hahaha!
My son and his partner have rats. They are good pets, but you must not only have one, they get very lonely, they are friendly, communal animals. They are very intelligent and very trainable.
On the subject of Geckos, when we lived in Spain, we had Gerald. He was a gecko who climbed up our walls every night and ate all the bugs he could find. By day he would sleep behind the woodburner flue . His friends congregated round the street light, which was fixed onto the wall of our house , when the moths came, the geckos were there waiting. Fast food indeed(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
