I would have been 16 and it was around the time I started paying attention to cinema. Of the films aimed at teenagers, I liked some of those by John Hughes, particularly Some kind of wonderful , but I discovered a lot of others from then on, thanks in part to Moviedrome on BBC2, and that the main channels would screen a host of less mainstream and foreign films over the Christmas holiday (both things long since gone, sadly).

Excuse me! Flybaby, I am not a complete philistine! I have seen all the Indiana Jones films, AND Ghostbusters! :p

Anyway, I scored Captain status in the interactive 'Test your knowledge of Star Trek' quiz at the Hyde Park Star Trek exhibition in 2002.
    Rispeck, please! :D

**shakes head** oh pyxis................. there are clearly serious holes on your education!!!!! **grins** You must watch back to the future (3), Indiana jones (4) and ghostbusters (2) films immediately!!!!!!!!!!
and then we shall continue your 80's film education.................

My hubby is amazed by the fact that, most times, if its an 80's film, he only has to play one second or show me one frame and I can identify the movie! I never used to listen to the radio, but always had dvd's on in the background throughout my teenage years, mainly on repeat.....so ended up knowing the films very well.

I am still very disappointed that its 21st October 2015 and I still don't have a hoverboard..........................

I maintain that there are only 3 Indiana Jones movies! The less said about the latest one, he better! :p

I'm like you though Fly, not so into music but always had movies on in the background. We do a daily film quiz in the office (just one of those page-a-day calendars that has film questions on) and I'm winning by a mile! :)

DH sent me a photo of DS dressed up as Marty McFly yesterday morning with a red bodywarmer, jeans and white hi-top trainers! So cute, he just needed a hoverboard! :D

I agree with you about Indiana Jones Birdie. I also maintain there are only 3 Star Wars movies and 3 Die Hards. One of my biggest pet peeves is the amount of remakes and 'reboots' of films and endless sequels to things that should have been left alone - it seems there are no orginal movies anymore. And the remakes are always rubbish. I was quite glad when
Robert Zemeckis said there would be no remake of BTTF while he was alive.

    Baby bird's costume sounds awesome.

So tired. Was kept awake by the howling winds last night. I am supposed to be getting ready but I am still in bed with DA dog curled up against me. It was a bit windy yesterday so I tied my scarf Shemagh style and I've never had anyone stare at me quite so much.

Anyone watching the Walking Dead just now? If there's ever a zombie apocalypse I'll be with Daryl. WaS, I'd recommend it to you but it is emotionally devestating at times so probaby not a good idea. There is an absolutely brilliant movie called Chopper chicks in zombie land or zombie town which is hilarious. I'd also recommend Sharknado if anyone hasn't seen those. More comedy than disaster movies. I absolutely love bad disaster movies.

I'll also confess to a love for cheesy Christmas movies that they show on Christmas 24. But not til December. I love to sit down with pfferneusse and hot chocolate and watch them.

Oh I love Christmas movies! We have a little stash of Christmas movies that come out on December 1st! DH's favourite is Jingle All The Way, mine is The Muppet Christmas Carol! :D

Have you heard that there's going to be a Ghostbusters reboot? But with an all girl team?! Really not sure about that!

Oh and as for bad disaster movies, how about Snakes on a Plane?! Amazing! :rotfl:

ETA: I'm waaaaay behind on The Walking Dead, really need to catch up but I'm too busy catching up on everything else I'm waaaaaaay behind on! I need 2 weeks locked in a dark room just with boxsets and popcorn!

  • Regarding 80's movies, please don't miss out Labyrinth, The Goonies, and my favourite film of all time The Princess Bride <3
