    Hi all :)

Faerie - sorry you're feeling so unwell at the moment. Here's hoping kittie cuddles will work (they do make everything better!).

Calley - Hugs :) Netflix and a blanket sounds amazing, take care of yourself and know we all think you're amazing.

Hugs to all who need them, and kicks up the bum to those who need those too (me included today!).

I have 3 giraffe onesies - I'm giraffe mad, if it exists I probably own it if it has something to do with them - a Totoro one, and a my little pony friendship is magic one. You wouldn't think I was 30! I've got a unicorn one on my wishlist for christmas, but would love a christmas one too....decisions, decisions!

Weight has ballooned because of change in doses in medications (non-MH related), but its only 5 pounds, so not too harsh.

I've got my wonderful Nanny coming up tomorrow (she's 80 in December but swears she is 65!) and my Uncle who lives with her to watch the football and lunch, she has had the same MH issues as me for the last 50 years and its like she really gets me, and I really get her. She tells me things she doesn't tell her own children and my mum, and I don't get to see her too often because of the MH stuff.

I hope you all have a happy and healthy weekend - may not be on much because of work tomorrow, and famalam, and the house move, and...well...the list is huge!

    Love and light x

Yuck, had a mini melt down.
Hubby came home from work and told me off for doing some housework because I pulled my stitches last night and my tummy is sore. He says I should be resting.

I'm getting so bored during the day though I need to do something to keep me occupied. He huffs when I ask him to do things though so I just wanted to help.

Little Sod has been wanting to play all day but I've been busy with the baby so feeling really guilty about that.
When she cries he takes toys over to her so I have to tell him not to, and feel guilty about that as he is only trying to help.

Feel like my boobs are going to drop off with all the feeding and expressing.
    And I am SO tired!

I feel like I want to turn the clock back and not get pregnant, it's too hard. And I feel guilty about that too.

    So much guilt

Welly, sweetheart, I understand why you might say that, but some of us (and by that, I mean me), went through invasive procedures in an unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant, so reading comments like that feels like you put on DMs and booted me in the stomach. While I don't want to add to your guilt, maybe it would help to look at escapee while she sleeps and remind yourself how lucky you are to have her when there are so many people out there putting themselves through hell for it or grieving because it won't ever happen for them.

That being said, you're exhausted and tired and overwhelmed and on top of that, recovering from major surgery. Your body is flooded with hormones which are not helping. You've had a poorly baby which has meant less sleep and more worry and you're suddenly entirely responsible for someone else and struggling to find your feet when there is no manual. So don't feel guilty and don't be hard on yourself. This part will pass soon enough and you will find your feet. Are you expressing? If so could your OH take the night feeds tonight to let you sleep a bit?

In the old days there would have been a laying in period where family and women from the community would pitch in and help while you recovered in bed. I'm not sure when that stopped or why but having seen how utterly overwhelmed and exhausted friends and family members were soon after birth, it seems like a really good idea to me.

Anyway massive hugs and I hope I haven't offended you with the top bit. It wasn't my intention. Just trying to offer a different perspective.

Also, well done for admitting you're struggling and feeling that way because most people won't admit that. That's very brave.

Thanks Code, I needed a reality check.

I am expressing, but can't ask hubby to do night feeds as I'd have to wake up to wake him up and then stay awake to make sure he doesn't fall asleep holding the baby so it would defeat the object. He is terrible at staying awake. He took the baby this evening so I could get some sleep and I've just gone down to find him fast asleep on the sofa and Escapette needing changing. I do understand he is tired as he works all day, but he gets to sleep through the night!

I remember reading somewhere that women are genetically programmed to respond to a baby's cries, whereas men are able to ignore it. Presumably this is to stop the baby being neglected.

I'm sure there are some decent, capable ones out there but DH does nothing! Through this whole renovation thing I've been working from home and then we've needed to move stuff in and out of the room. I've had serious, I can't straighten up back pain and I still had to do most of the carrying as DH kept disappearing and I'd find him on the couch with his phone then I'd have to nag him to help me. I never wanted to be a nagging wife, but it's the only way to get stuff done. I even have to nag him to take DA dog for his walks. Tonight I needed to defrost the freezer as we get a new one tomorrow and he disappeared off upstairs to play computer games! Then when I said something said he didn't feel well. Buddy, my back still hurts, I have an ear infection, my sinuses are blocked, I have a headache and I have girl cramps but I still have to get on with it. Grrr.

Probably just as well we can't have kids or he'd be a dead man by now.

I think men are often more relaxed about things and have the 'I'll do it later' attitude, whereas some things can't wait!

I've ended up waking him up to do this feed so I can express in peace. Escapette now thinks it's play time!

How much longer will your renovations go on for?

I hope you managed to grab a bit of sleep, Welly. It will get easier as Escapette settles into a routine, promise.

Pumpkins are out! Pumpkins are out! This is a time of great excitement for me because every year I make pumpkin pies and then eat them all because WaSp doesn't like pumpkin. It's such an easy recipe that other than the oven bit I can do it singlehandedly, it is also very forgiving so if I mess up it still tends to work. I would eat it a lot more regularly if we had canned pumpkin here, unfortunately it isn't common in our supermarkets like it is in America, so I get all excited at this time every year! I recommend everyone makes one, it takes 5 minutes and tastes amazing with cream, just make sure to include cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.

Other than that I still feel grotty with one of my illnesses flaring but it will quieten down again. My thrill at pumpkins being available has overcome feeling unwell for the most part. I shall make one for Milliefleur and I was thinking of making one for the Hindu Temple to give them for Diwali when they bring me my basket of goodies. It's vegetarian so should be fine for them. Is that a nice idea or a stupid one?

Funny you should say that. I was in my local waitrose. I know hark at her. Like I can really afford to shop there LOL!!! but with special offers I get the odd bits and pieces in there.

Anyway its a little one but I was just looking and I was surprised to see tinned pumkin on the shelf was over £2 though.

  • Oh dear, Calley. Putting some distance between you sounds like a good idea, you really don't need that kind of complication.

I didn't know Waitrose sold pumpkin in tins! That is expensive though, a tin only does one pie and I can get several out of a fresh pumpkin. I shop in Waitrose occasionally! Once a year or so they send me a spectacular offer for an online deal, the last one was £30 off of a £100 shop so I stocked up on food that keeps, that we eat regularly. I also got a free bottle of champagne for shopping with them one year. Where I used to live it was the only supermarket in walking distance so I was a Waitrose shopper for 16 years. I became very good at hunting out bargains and as long as I was careful it didn't cost too much more.

Calley I agree with WaS, perhaps take a step back with this one, could get far too messy and you don't need that stress

I have a doctors appointment for Tuesday, however had run out of meds, thankfully the nice doctor at the walk in centre gave me a weeks worth, I was putting it off but Swain insisted I go as he doesn't want me to feel ill and be down so I went and got it sorted. :)

Currently trying to think of/find a Halloween outfit for my friends baby, ive been given Halloween costume duties as apparently im good at it. His parents are quite geeky so ive been tryig to find a pokemon outfit but no joy so far! He's 6 months so yeah any ideas welcome!
