    WaS,

Could Wasp ask your Diwali ex-neighbour or temple person to pop in and check you out at scheduled times?

  • Oooh, that's an idea whitewing although really, I should be fine. I was thinking of approaching it like camping but without the using a camping stove bit. If I gather everything I need next to me and don't venture off the sofa nothing should go wrong. I have everyone here on this thread if my memory goes to pot and I need prompting plus my teacher friend is only an email or (shudder) a phone call away and I will have my american friend on messenger for most of the day as usual.

I will increase my anti-psychotics to emergency level a couple of days beforehand which should prevent any psychotic episodes and also make me very sleepy which won't be a bad thing. My medication I will put in a pill dispenser with the correct days on it so hopefully that should be covered.

I am sure WaSp will text throughout the time he is away too so really with everything together I should be fine for a few days and doing pretty much what I do everyday anyway (ie:nothing).

You ought to have someone pop in at regular intervals as otherwise how will WaSp enjoy his time there?

  • Hmmm, that is a thought. Funnily enough it is actually Diwali weekend that he will be away so my friend will be about 30 seconds walk away at the temple for most of it so could easily pop in. That is actually a really good idea.

I think that's a brilliant idea to have your nice ex-neighbour to pop in. You could maybe even mention the whole 'camping' aspect and he might bring you lovely, lovely food to eat?! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Hahahaha! Well on the 11th I get my basket of yummy goodies from the temple anyway that my friend nominated me for so there will no doubt be lovely food still around! I am surprisingly far calmer about it than I was when it was mentioned months ago, I should be absolutely fine for a few days and I quite like quiches and general party food so eating will be fun. I shall have to have a wash at the sink for a few days because a shower/bath is too much of a risk with the whole hot water and falling over aspects but it won't do me any harm. I shall also write myself little instruction notes on how to do things and put them in prominent places, important reminders like water from a kettle is hot, do not put my hand into it!

Will your carer not still be coming in to see you?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • My carer is only here for 2 week days now, elsien. The funding ran out so I pay for a day and my teacher friend pays for another.

I am struggling today. Just want to curl into a tiny ball and sob for no reason. How can I feel like this so much? My life is ok. I have a (mostly) lovely husband, the perfect dog, a roof over my head, and as Paolo said 'Food for ma belly and a licence for ma telly', and I'm still sad.

First world problems and I need to get a grip.

  • Awww, big hugs code. I am sorry that you feel so low, lack of sleep won't be helping. When I was working as a therapist I used to tell clients that to me it didn't matter if they were upset because of a huge tragedy or because their pet mouse had died, what was important was their feelings and none were less valid than anyone else's no matter the cause. Today you feel low and it doesn't matter how ideal your life looks, those feelings are real and justified. Try to think of something nice that you can do for yourself even if it's curl up with DA dog for a nap.
