I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
I love :eek:0 -
Yuck. Been up all night and am exhausted.
There's a baby group on I want to go to but it starts at ten.
Baby has just dozed off!
Do I make the most of it and grab some sleep, or try and get to the group? Someone decide for me as my brain isn't working today!
Have a great holiday Georgie, and hope you feel better soon Pyxis0 -
Grab 90 mins sleep now (one normal circuit) then go on for a few mins. You can review this decision after 90 mins sleep.

Personally I'd get some kip while you can. Unless you've psyched yourself up for it and think if you don't go this time you might let it slip?
Pyxis, see you when you're less knackered.
Code, I know what you mean about the cleaning, but if I'm short of time and have to choose between a deep clean or something I enjoy, then fun it is. And it's only for a couple of days - once it's done and they're out of your hair it'll be worth it.
I have my first chilblain of the year, which considering it hasn't been cold doesn't bode well.
Edit - I have a friend who swears by power naps. Personally I'd rather stay awake, as a short sleep always seems to leave me feeling worse. Maybe I've not worked out my sleep cycle properly? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Morning all! I agree with JM, Welly (morning JM!). Grab some sleep now and see how you feel.
Have a great holiday, Georgie!
Rest well, Pyxis. We will miss you.
I hate cleaning, Code. It hurts my back and arm and I find it so boring. Well done for what you have done, I would probably just panic.
I used to have chilblains all the time as a child elsien, I sympathise. Cuddle a Gitdog!
I am all anxious but not about me, my friends are suffering. My teacher friend and is still very shaky. He is worried about his mind slowing as he gets older and has noticed himself slowing physically. He has always been terrified about losing his cognitive abilities and it is causing him a lot of anxiety. I have told him to go to his GP but he is scared of what he might discover, poor man.
My american friend has to write an essay for her latest psychology course on something that triggers her deeply and has spent the last 2 hours crying her eyes out to me after having to watch a video about the subject. I have offered to help her write it and do much of the research for her so that at least she has all of the material she needs to hand. It is a trigger for me, too but I have years of therapy behind me that she doesn't so it should be easier for me.
So now I feel helpless and unable to make things better for my friends. I want to fix things for them and feel utterly useless. I want to bring them both home and wrap them in blankets with a cuddly toy each and make them hot chocolate with marshmallows.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS, is your American friend's essay something that she absolutely has to do? I was just wondering whether if it's so much of a trigger for her she could discuss other alternatives with her course tutors? Or at least talk to them about the issue (even if she doesn't want to go into details) so they can try to support her a bit more?
The old magic wand feeling - just remind yourself that some things are not in your power to change, but your supportive ear is clearly very important to them so you're not being useless at all. If they didn't have you to talk to, maybe they'd bottle it all up instead. You're doing all you can by being a good friend. Remember that if the voices are saying otherwise. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I was wondering that myself, elsien. I really am worried that completing this essay is going to make my friend mentally unwell, it is a very specific trigger for her and one that she has only ever shared with me, it is something that she can't even talk about yet. I think that her tutor might make an exception for her if they realised just how severe this is. Part of the research is to watch 3 videos about it, she only watched one today and was absolutely in bits.
About all I can do for either of my friends is listen but it's frustrating because as you say I want to get my magic wand out and make it all go away for them.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

^^ This. So much this.
Sorry about your chillblain. That sounds nasty.
Welly, sleep should always win. Have a nap and go next week.
I love a good nap. I even have DA dog trained. When I say 'Let's have a nap', he waits until I get more or less comfy on the couch and cuddles up behind me and we both nap. I envy people who work for companies with nap facilities. I also find it a problem solving experience - if I'm stuck, 8 times out of 10 the answer comes to me in that bit between sleep and awake. The other 2 times it comes when I'm on the loo. :rotfl:

Aw code! How sweet of DA dog! There are companies that have nap facilities? Why didn't my workplace ever have that?!
Typical that they're late, got anything distracting you can do for yourself while they are working? Mind you, you probably cope with it better than me. I have retreated to my bedroom and will hide here until they leave. At the moment it's just one wee guy who is young enough to be my son but he looks terrified of me so I'll just let him get on with it.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
