  • LOL, such loveliness on here. Well done faerie - it sounds as if you are really achieving ATM (but we would still give you cuddles even if you weren't!)

WaS, you are just a brilliant tour de force!

And congratulations everyone else, because I am sure you have all achieved SOMETHING today, if you think about it! :D (Hoping this is encouraging to anyone who needs it, and doesn't come across as patronising.)

I think i may have achieved something. I survived a 7 1/2 hour shift :D I know that doesn't seem like many hours and most people do that everyday but i do struggle with the longer shifts, and find i tend to get stressed more but today wasn't bad at all. :)

Though my feet are killing me but i'm now sat on my bed, in pjs with my new fluffy blanket, so happy to be chilling out now.

There's so much kindness and wonderful support on this thread. Makes me feel proud to be a part of something so wonderful and thankful i had the chance to meet all you lovely ones :)

Oh my, my tw@tty housemate does not appear to a(be making friends or b)taking the landlord telling him not to cause bother seriously.

One of the new housemates just approached me to tell me something that's happened. He's only been here a few days, we have a cupboard with plates and stuff for everyone to use and when he moved in the landlord told him to help himself and use what he wanted. However he forgot to mention tw@tty housemate has his own little corner and set of stuff. The new guy made and honest mistake and used some of his stuff and apparently tw@tty hosuemate completely went off on one shouting at the new guy etc. The guy didn;t know and it was a mistake, there as no need to be agressive. He's also been spinning a few lies, claiming he;s lived here for 2 years, which is bull, as i've only live here about a year and a half and he moved in WAY after i did (i set the new guy straight). Tw@tty housemate then apparently went off on a rant about how dirty the bathroom is (again more crap its clean!).

I;ve advised the new guy, if possible to aavoid confrontation with the other guy, that sadly this is how he is but not to take it personally, but stressed that he really needs to mention it to out landlord so he's fully aware of the situation. Personally i think he's been bang out of order being so aggressive towards someone who did make an honest mistake and tried to apologise, he's showing his true colours now and i seriously hope once the landlord hear's of this he will finally get his commpupance! (i know i only have one side of the story but i've been on the receiving end of this before so i do believe the new guy, and its not like he has anything to gain by making it up)

In fact he said to me that whilst its been the three of us (me him and the other new guy) it's been really nice and what he hoped for in a houseshare but tw@tty guy has changed all of that. He seems really nice and i'd hate to see him or the other new guy feel forced out because of one selfish individual's behaviour.

Well done MU! I hate to think how I'd survive 7.5 hours on my feet. I did some exit surveys about 5 years ago - they were up to 5 hours, and were quite bad enough thank YOU! Sorry to hear about tw@tmate, as well.

Hoping WaS is having a lovely sleep, as I think she was up for *cough* rather a long time yesterday! :D

Hugs and squishes to all who would like them, and there are fresh Bakewell tarts in the fort. ;) I am going to get some ginger today and make apple and ginger cake, I think. (Remember the basic cake recipe? This is a little bit different as it uses only dark brown sugar :) )

  • Aw, well done for befriending your flatmate MU. I really hope he does report the other guy to the landlord, that was a really mean overreaction.

Hahahaha! Don't you know I'm nocturnal now, JM? I have to call the doctors at 9.30 to see if my prescriptions ready. I tried to sleep and laid there staring at the clock and counting how many hours and minutes I had to go until I had to wake up. Oh, and thinking Argh! Phone call! So I gave up and have been awake all night again...

  • I'm in London for the weekend as it is the funeral on Monday, have arranged to see my Italian friend for lunch on Saturday which I'm really looking forward to as I haven't seen her in over six months. Hopefully popping over to see my brother and his family on Sunday as well, been an equally long time since I've seen my niece and nephew as well. So despite the sadness on Monday it should be a nice weekend.

Bought a new mobile phone yesterday evening, man in the shop asked who I had my broadband with (upsell coming, obviously). I told him and he admitted he'd never heard of that ISP and asked why I used them. By the time I got onto "full IPv6 support" he gave in gracefully and just let me buy the phone :p

Aww, wonderful, whitewing! Thank you! I now have a list for Milliefleur! You saved me!

Hahahaha! Well done Ono! Have a good lunch with your friend and I hope that the funeral goes as well as it can.

Me and phones should not be allowed in the same room! It goes one of two ways, I completely lose the ability to speak at all and hang up in a panic or I go into completely hysterical bubbly mode and try to overcompensate horribly for the fact I am panicking. I just did the latter. I called the Doctors surgery about my prescription and the receptionist clearly had a throat problem. After her saying that my prescription was ready instead of saying goodbye I launched into telling her that her throat sounds sore and she must look after it. She laughed and thanked me AND THEN! I decided to babble just about every tip I have ever heard of for looking after a sore throat, honey and lemon, salt gargling, etc. You get the picture. She works in doctor's surgery... I am sure she doesn't need medical advice from me.

I'll be back in this hole if anyone wants me (I know it's funny, too).

Well done everyone! Sounds like we are all achieving small things over the past day or so.

My achievements today so far include managing to have a bath instead of just a wipe over with a baby wipe and a swizz of dry shampoo, bathing escapette and dressing her, changing the bedding that got drowned in baby sick, putting on a load of laundry, and now planning a trip to my old work to have a coffee with a colleague. All without escapette going purple from screaming, and hubby is at work!!

Slightly more productive than yesterday where we did nothing at all as escapette had screamed from half past midnight until the following lunch time. I was more than a little tired.

She had an upset tummy again yesterday. I was set to go to the doctors with her but decided I was over reacting due to exhaustion so we rode it out. Did send hubby to 24 hour supermarket for gripe water though in the middle of the night.

Turns out the best way to settle her is to give her a cuddle.

Made me very sad to think that it hadn't even occured to me. I have a lot to learn
  • Well done, Welly! You really are doing so well! It is still very early days, there will be little hiccups (sometimes literally) but you really are coping very well. Have a lovely coffee!

I remember Gripe Water! I used to fake being unwell as a child so that I could have some, I loved it!
