I think there should be another thread to take the micky of those landlords on MSE who take the time to make multiple user accounts to demonize people who just want affordable housing.
You know who you are.
How dare people want to get the chance to buy their first home at affordable prices. We need to keep the housing bubble inflated massively so greedy over leveraged landlords don't go bankrupt and renters are kept renting forever. Quick make 5 new accounts landlords, this is a call to arms. No make 20 accounts and bully any first time buyer making sense.
Your greed needs you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brit, like you I have an ordinary job (secretary) and live in London. Yet in the time I've been posting on this board I've saved and bought a house (an ordinary two up two down in an unglamorous part of zone 4). This doesn't make me a greedy landlord, a sock puppet, or someone who suddenly looks down on tenants. Just a normal person getting on with the next stage of their lives.
The internet is like some kind of radiation-bathed garden that encourages extreme, mutant opinions to thrive. I class your views alongside padington's ("everyone in Wood Green will be a bazillionnaire!!!")- the kind of things mad tramps shout at bus stops, while the rest of the passengers, the normal average population, politely ignore them and avoid eye contact.
The idea that London houses are going to crash so you can buy a 4 bed in Fulham for £150 is on the same level as my second favourite day dream (the one about being an Olympic figure skater, the first lady to land a triple axel combo...)They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -

Good post. Sorry to go off subject, but your comment reminded me of a joke during the Iran war. Ronald Reagan's breakfast was disturbed when it was reported to him that Iraq forces had killed 3 Brazilian soldiers, on hearing this he irately asked 'Jesus! How many is a Brazillian?'Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

That pretty much sums up all of brit's posts ever since he joined.
Shame he didnt buy in 2009, when he had the chance.
Too busy holding out for the 50% fall that never came....0 -
Brit do yourself a favour mate. It's time you knuckled down and focused on saving hard and finally putting that deposit down on the house and getting on with your life. Remember the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting a different result. It's time you moved on to the next stage in your life. I don't think anyone here will hold a bad word against you for all your hate filled posts over the years if you finally moved on. This advice is for your own good fella.0

Tends to average 500 -700 for the whole forum when I`m on, and of the few sites I frequent (here and a music forum or two) that is big numbers, some of the music forums (famous bands) would be lucky with that number of views in a year.0 -

"I would"
"I'd rattle that!!!"
"Yeah. Ok. So would I."

Yeah like that young lady would be seen dead with a rent forever .....
Putting aside that the article is a made up property puff piece, anyone doing what the young lady is supposedly thinking of would have never made it to secondary school let alone Cambridge (although I`m sure the bar is way lower than it used to be) The tax changes for BTL alone are going to make it pretty pointless for most people, she would make more busking on a street corner, and someone saving 2k a month with a supposedly in demand job/degree and living in the house they will eventually inherit anyway for free, jumping on to the tail end of the biggest credit bubble in history is beyond even laughing at.0 -

I`m talking about people viewing the site, not members, but when was the last time 86 members had a rational discussion on here....:rotfl:0 -

..but you're strangely drawn to this little backwater aren't you and I think you're starting to like us.
It still makes me chortle though that you try and make fun of this site because there are only a dozen internet warriors and HPC get all of 86. We could have a DHPE board and HPC meetup and we'd all fit on a double decker bus!0
