..but you're strangely drawn to this little backwater aren't you and I think you're starting to like us.
It still makes me chortle though that you try and make fun of this site because there are only a dozen internet warriors and HPC get all of 86. We could have a DHPE board and HPC meetup and we'd all fit on a double decker bus!
Not sure what it is that you stand to lose in the coming property crash, but I have no doubt it substantial too you, Can't wait:)

Of course the main MSE forums get many more views than HPC, but the bearish tone is creeping in there as well and I would say that the likes of (main) MSE and Mumsnet are going to be interesting indicators as the debt snowball unwinds.
It's clutching at straws to say views of a perma bearish site, one with 12 keyboard warriors (hidden from Google), and mumsnet are indicators of anything much at all; let alone anything to do with the unwinding debt snowball whatever that means.
You've got lost in the Internet.0 -

Prices go down a lot I'll be buying a much bigger place. If they go up a lot I'll buy a farm in the Algarve or Western Alentejo regions of Portugal. Stay the same and I'm on track to retire early to a nice place in the South-West with a decent sea view.
Try not to worry.0 -

Every where is a bear site these days apart from the nutters on 118 and you handful. And have you logged off since last night? Honestly, for your own well being just walk away from it for a few days or even hours. Try and see the other side to the argument rather than abusing people on here on a daily basis.
There is not a media outlet out there that cannot see the damage that is being done by rampant house prices, and I have a suspicion it is going to be soon addressed.0 -

What time frame, and by how much?
I've said on another thread that I'm expecting a 'correction' sometime in the future, but not this year. Here in the SE there's still plenty of pent up demand. My House goes on the market on Monday, and it'll be interesting to see how long it takes to sell. Judging by the last two sold in this road - not long, and above asking price i.e. offers over.0 -

No this is not a bear site and if a site is bear that says a lot. This site is more balanced with some saying there will be a crash, some saying prices will continue to boom with many views in between. I suspect a large number of people on this sight like me realise you can't predict what house prices will do with any certainty.0 -

House prices will go up, down or sideways and the page views I generate here (or on HPC when I go for a chortle) aren't an indicator of what will happen in any way whatsoever.
What surprises me is you want prices to fall for the good of other people so you're obviously a nice chap but you're so very rude and angry at the same time. You didn't sell up based on your suspicion there would be a crash did you?
There comes a point in home ownership where house prices become less important because you get chunk of mortgage paid off, your career moves on, wealth increases and becomes more diverse so, like me, you don't much care anymore what house prices do - it's all gravy and so much more relaxing than being a perma angry house hunter.0 -

So do I, as it happens, or at least have sub inflation price rises for an extended period of time.
Of course, the fact that I see this as being a good thing doesn't mean that I think it will happen. If someone insists that prices *are* going to drop, then I just ask them to make a testable prediction. They need to say when they will drop, by how much, and how long they will take to recover (if they do!) Asking for total accuracy is unreasonable, so I don't, but I do ask for more than arm waving and ranting.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

.
Like you that doesn't mean I think it will happen, prices were I am have increased by 30% over the last couple of years and I certainly didn't see that coming.0 -
