Awww!!!

The OP is an interesting fish: a low end "recruitment consultant" from Northampton who has a visceral hatred of Estate Agents.

HPC is like a Doomsday cult now.

Around my way prices are spiralling, I have no idea how or where the young families are getting the money from to pay ten times an average local salary for a starter mid terrace, but somehow they are.

HPC is going the same way as the credit crunch forums, where all reasoned debate related to credit, finance and the economy has been abandoned.
They now focus on Area 51, fake moon landings and the Reptilian Elite.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

It is better that they are kept busy on that forum, who knows what harm they might do if they were walking the streets.
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop

I understand the frustration of anyone who can't buy a house, or who are priced out because of government intervention.

But what I HATE about HPC is you can't have a discussion on there without people like Count of nowhere shouting abuse calling people trolls or getting banned.

I assumed the place died out a long time ago and moderators kept the forum going with fake posts using old accounts.

You know when a forums on it's last legs when all the threads are 156 pages long and it's just three people posting about something totally unrelated the original topic.

Sibley won that particulate battle in the end I think it's fair to say now.

    The war is ongoing.

Last time I was at my uncles about 6 monthis ago his place was priced at 2 million. Last night he reckoned it was now 2.5 million.

My neighbour wanted to buy his place about 6 months ago from his landlord for 450k, he took 6 months to get the paper work together and last week the valuation came in at 550k.

It's another roaring year for property in North London.

Cheap money, fast growing population, restrictive planning laws, secure political climate, expected good economic cycle following the best advert Great Britain has ever had ( the last Olympics ) and royal bonanza of births and significant dates.

A lucky island in a sea of trouble.

What else do you expect ?
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

There is nothing lucky about the younger generations being shackled to a lifetime of mortgage debt and renting misery in service of rentier kleptocrats.

I just read the thread. It's mind blowing.
Even people who are obvious bears are getting shouted down for just stating house prices are not dropping.

Care to expand on this? I'm mystified by what you mean.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
