    its not a bubble

A bubble needs an overproduction and waste.
The world does not have overproduction of homes, if anything there is still a shortage of some 2 billion homes worldwide.

The UK needs to build another 10 million homes by 2050

Even little ireland the poster child of 'the bubble' actually now has a shortage of homes

There are empty flats in my block and surrounding streets of central Edinburgh.

WHich is lovely and all, but...

In June last year you were arguing over here that rents were crashing in Edinburgh.

So which one of you was lying?

So you were lying then about rents in wider Edinburgh.

    Good to know.

    your that popular eh?
  • You should probably mention that to your mates in the Edinburgh thread on HPC....

Poor CCC doesn't seem to be having much luck with cheap renting since he moved out of his parents gaff.

    :D

Rental demand is going mental because house prices are falling. Nobody wants to be stuck with a capital loss so they're piling into renting instead, for which, of course, they will be fully charged.

Not surprised. Even benefits claimants get a bigger budget to spend and can live in nicer places.

Perhaps you could do the world a favour and stop making assumptions about everyone else's rent then?

    Not just assumptions but assertions!
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
