  • That makes sense totally :-) Mine are Chocolate shorts and they appear completely genuine (good quality label, "made in China" etc. I'm expecting some tall Chocolate and Chestnut today so will report back when they arrive......

I'm certain these are the Real Mcoy.
  • Guess none of us will ever know for sure but Decker confirmed they do sell genuine UGGs and I don't think they would be claiming they're genuine both on their site and by email, if they're not !!! (... but then I'm a bit gullible and think everyone else is as honest as I am!!!!!)

Wooow guys have just spent about 10 mins reading all the posts from last night, mine are from australia direct, long chestnut, and are due to arrive today also (although i'm at school so may miss them being delivered) :(
Am really hoping they are real, otherwise i could have just bought them in the UK  (but wanted to save £75!).. will examine mine as soon as i get them, but am sure they are genuine, and if not- will email the company but unless i can be refunded postage will probably not bother sending them back..

Cannot wait to get them now.. good luck everyone with getting them!!
    :money:

My short blacks have just arrived and tick all the boxes bar the inside label which has the made in australia.I guess it's crunch time now where I just give up looking for fault and wear them or send them back and get some in this country at a stupid price.

Now I just need to deal with objectiv who sent my show cleaner instead of deodoriser!

Tiggsy.. have you compared your boots with the fake guide on ebay? how did they do? really worried we've all got fakes now :S x

I compared with the guide and the only thing that's not right is the aussie label inside.
I might pop into the shop that sells them today if I have time just to compare for peace of mind
  • hi, im new to this, i also ordered boots from aussiedirect, arrived this morning and i also am corcerned as to how genuine they are. I got the tall chestnut but the label inside says short classic and made in australia, one label isnt even attached properly. The label on the back seems smaller than expected and they are measuring at 13.5 inches, i thought they were meant to be 12.5, so confused, dont know what to do now

oh god from what everyone is saying they are likely to be fakes!!! Really dont know what to do as mine are arriving today also.. but dont want to send them back! what's everyone going to do? sweetcake.. do they feel good quality? how do they compare to the ebay fake ugg guide? x
  • Now I`m REALLY worried...I ordered the tall blacks, but from looking on other sites, it appears that the label on the back should be black with white writing, and on the Aussiedirect site, it looks to be a cream colour

There's so many people producing fake products in our society nowdays, and it makes us really paranoid.

I think it is going to get to a point where people will go to authentic Chanel and Louis Vuitton shops in London, Paris etc standing and inspecting their products to see if theyre real lol. I can just imagine the shop assistant's faces when you say "well the Ebay guide says..." :D

I read an article yesterday written by an Australia guy. He was saying how all the Australians are peed off because Deckers copyrighted the 'Ugg Australia' name eventhough Australian people have been producing Ugg-style boots traditionally for years. He said that the Aussies do not like the Deckers company, and avoid their chinese goods because they go against what the Aussies believe.

My guess is, that Deckers realised one of their biggest markets is in Aus, so decided to set production up in Aus too to keep the Aussies happy.. which in turn would lead to more sales. This sort of collaborates with what someone else was saying about the shop in NZ having 'made in Aus' labels.

I think the Ebay guides are aimed towards the boots sold here in the UK, lets not forget our boots are coming from Aus.

Here's a snippet from a website called 'livingwithoutChina'. Someone emailed Deckers to ask about their location of production, here is part of Deckers reply

"We have experienced tremendous growth in UGG Australia footwear, especially in the Classic Collection. The demand has outnumbered the capabilities of both the Australian and New Zealand factories.

Product demand, business growth, and the consistency of manufacturing in Asia have all been determining factors as to why we have moved many of the collections’ productions to China"

So, although MOST of the boots are made in China there are factories in NZ and Aus. This has come from the Horse's mouth.
