Ugg Boots from £62 delivered

One more thing I have found, which also suggests that some are still made in Aus:
"However an American Importer (Koolaburra) presented the idea that the name Ugg comes from the way that the boot “hugs” the wearer’s foot and legs. However because of trademark issues, Uggs are more often than not known in the retail world simply as Sheepskin Boots <snip>.. The Deckers versions of Ugg Australia, Emu, Old Friend and Auss Dogs are now made in China (some models are sill being made in New Zealand). However, those produced by Koolaburra and exported to the USA are still made in Australia."
As I understand (I may be wrong) this Koolaburra guy has something to do with Deckers??0 -
oh god from what everyone is saying they are likely to be fakes!!! Really dont know what to do as mine are arriving today also.. but dont want to send them back! what's everyone going to do? sweetcake.. do they feel good quality? how do they compare to the ebay fake ugg guide? x0

arrgghhh just got mine...who thought i'd be so confused by a pair of boots!!!!!
okay..so mine are also made in australia and the label has a crappy nylon/plasticy feel..not like the proper 'material' labels on the ones in the shops
alsooo the label is really high up the shoe, so when i roll them over, at the top, the label peeps over. i know that doesnt happen with the real uggs, cuz people have theirs rolled over like half way down, so all you can see is the inner fur bit, and i dont see the label sticking out on theirs.
furthermooorree (yes, theres more) the 'ugg' label on the back seems really small...can anyone who had KNOWN originals (ie bought from Schuh, selfridges etc) confirm the size of the label on their boots?
finally, the stitching is of really bad quality and the heel bit (around the 'ugg' label) is totally different from the material of the rest of the boot..anyone else get that too?
ahhh...so upset!0 -
I have tall black ones which I bought in selfridges so I think it's safe to say these are real. My boot from the bottom of the sole to the top of the boot are 12". The lable on the back is black with white writing, it measures 4cm by 1.8 cm.
The inside lable is roughly 11cm down (about 4 and a bit inches) this is white fabric with black writing, on the front of the lable it says
MADE BY
UGG (r) don't have the proper key for the r in a circle
australia
Classic tall 5815
W6 (in a box)
MADE IN CHINA
on the back it says
SHEEPSKIN UPPER
PURE WOOL LINING
SYNTHETIC SOLE

Hi, hate to rain on everyones parade again about these boots but I have worn mine - short chestnut - into town today to compare them at my local store -£140.00 for the short and £170.00 for the tall and I hate to say it but they are definitely better in the shop!!
The quality of the outside is softer, like butter, the stitiching is far superior on the joins as on mine there are some threads showing and they have been overstitched which is noticeable when you look closely. Also the label inside says made in china!!
My label inside is not stiched in properly and says made in australia!
I am now convinced that they are not "fakes" per say but are not the uggs from deckers MADE IN CHINA!
I don't care what this james says from aussie direct why would he sell them for half the price??????????
Anyway, they are also too small which is the icing on the cake as I had tried the uggs on in the shop beforehand to get the size so that must also say something. Luckily my daughter fancies them so she has a lovely pair of boots which look "real" from the outside and to anyone not caught up in this blooming debate of real or fake!
I hve to say that the fur inside is lovely and soft and is the same as the ones in the shop but the outside is the real giveaway.
I shall be emailing this place to complain and now have to decide whether to save up and buy a "real" pair!!
ARggggg:mad:  :mad:Waddle you do eh?0 -
hmm well I went into frontier today, the only difference between my short blacks and their short blacks was the label. Also the lining at the bottom of the frontier ones where cream..mine are black. The label in frontier was on the right side of the boot not the back. But other than that the height, label at the back was the same..the lining in the aussiedirect boots actually feels nicer than the china made boots!0

I've ordered 3 pairs of tall classic uggs from Aussiedirect (one for the missus and the others for her friend and a relative). Unfortunately they are not the type to wear fakes so I'm worried that I'm going to get seriously lumbered here!!!
Can anyone attach or provide links to actual pictures of the UGG Australia boots that have been delivered from Aussiedirect? I think this will help many in figuring out if they are genuine. I don't mind if they are genuine older stock made by the US Decker company in Australia with slight differences to the Chinese ones...but I don't won't to be ripped off with anything else.
If anyone can post actual piccies of the boots they've had delivered (here or on another URL) that would be GREAT!0 -
Not every pair of boots are going to be exactly the same though. They are mass produced in factories all over the world, so Im sure there will be slight variations from one boot to another.
Also, the faKes would smell synthetic, and they would not come with the embossed leaflets/cards.. the fakes are usually photocopies (to my knowledge)
I can't really make an informed decision yet though, as mine are still to be delievered. Im not concerned about the made in aus label though, as we have already established, Deckers has/does make uGgs in Aus too.
When I get mine, I wil go into my local Schuh/Selfridges and compare, until then though, Im not overly concerned0 -
hi have mine and will post pics asap
think they are probably real although the stiching on the seams is a bit poor and don;t think they are worth all of the money, so am returning them, has anyone done this and had a full refund (minus shipping) or shall i just sell them on ebay?0
