This Aussie Direct debate is mad! I was after UGGs as my birthday present from my husband (have to shop myself as he hasn't the first clue!) and after reading about 3 quarters of the way through this awsome thread I decided to plump for Aussie Direct. I had heard the good and bad but I thought that for the price it was worth the gamble, and knew that if I bought on my credit card then I would be covered if I wasn't happy... anyway, I ordered the tall classics in chestnut, the ones I wanted and then sat back... then read more of the threads, then got more and more scared, especially as people were saying it was the chestnuts that they seemed to be having the greatest problems with... but, again I thought it was worth the gamble and I could always send them back...
... my boots arrived yesterday and they are perfect. I have made all the checks and they are absolutely 100% genuine, they are beautiful, they are comfortable, well made, I'm so happy and so relieved.
So I'm totally confused now to be honest, I just wonder if they had a few bad batches in the rush to meet the christmas demand, or maybe they buy up seconds/residuals - Martin Lewis stated they had been confirmed as genuine at the head of this thred by Deckers and then some people say the opposite so I really think it is luck of the draw as to what batches they have in at the time and until I hear more stories of a greater reputation of Aussie Direct I believe I was very lucky in this instance but doubt I will order from them again - I think one of the other sites mentioned http://www.hartings.co.nz/ might be a better bet, haven't seen any negatives about this one and they seem to work out as the same price as Aussie Direct.
I'm going to America tho later this year so I might stock up while I'm over there and avoid having to go through all this stress ever again:rotfl:! So my verdict? Order from Aussie if you're willing to take a gamble and make sure it's on your credit card, otherwise either pay the going rate, order directly from the American official site or give Hartings a go - oh, and I have an Aussie 5% code if anyone wants to use it!0 -
Just been checking www.uggasutralia.com and in the Australian section under Classic Talls and Classic Shorts it says they are Made in Australia, China and New Zealand.
Im guessing thats pretty offical if its on there site saying they make them in Australia. what do you think?
Yes some boots are still made in Australia....
BUT....they are inferior to the quality expected from the brand, the boots do look fake when compared to the China made ones. Hartings turned down their christmas stock that was shipped from Australian factories, my order was cancelled for this reason as they felt the boots were not to the usual standard they sell. If you get a pair with 'made in australia' on the inside tag, there are obvious differences in the shape of the boot. Its personal choice but if Hartings refused to sell them that says a lot.
It depends how much of a risk you are willing to take to save a few quid, the ones they sent me looked fake, I still have pics if anyone wants to see them feel free to PM me, The cost to send them back on a tracked delivery was nearly £40! Without tracking they could of easily 'disappeared' leaving me with nothing. The customer service was great before I bought the boots, once received and wanting to return them I had to chase them for a reply, they never did supply a return address so I ended up selling them at a loss just to get some of my money back.
There was a review site on yahoo, several people complaining about this problem I cant find it on google now though0 -
FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS ORDERED FROM HERE AND BEEN RIPPED OFF, THIS MIGHT HELP YOU.
This site is exactly the same as a site previously running under the name DUSIAFOOTWEAR.COM the layout, prices etc are all the same it looks like the same site but the name has changed. Their previous address was set up in Bristol. I know people who had boots from there which seemed fine, but I think they went downhill soon after and google searches now show people not getting their boots and the site has shut down.
Looks like they set up again under this new name with the intention of ripping people off.
I think they were also linked to ebay seller 'hUGGies' also known as 'HOUSE OF DESIGNS' who were selling fakes, I think they got shut down off ebay too.0 -
Has anyone realised that Hartings are no longer shipping Uggs to the UK anymore! (If/when they had any in stock anyway)
International: Please note that we can only deliver UGG Australia® boots to New Zealand addresses.
They will still ship Canterburys though if anyone's interested.
Btw has anyone ordered from Hartings and if so how long on average did your order take to arrive? I ordered a pair of canterburys 12 days ago and I just wondered if they would be here soon. I'm dying for them to arrive, hopefully the rain will stay away long enough so I can wear them

Paypal have found in my favour the dispute with seller uggfootwear-direct. They were unable to recover any money from the sellers account therefore I was not able to be refunded by Paypal. Paypal also advised me that they may not even bar this seller using their service but may decide to repremand them...I am very dissapointed. There is obviously no benefit of using Paypal after all. Disputes take over ten days to be decided and my seller didn't even respond, which is unsurprising. I think Paypals process was totally pointless, in the ten days or so they allowed the seller to respond, they cleared their bank accounts so no money could be recovered. Perhaps if Paypal had investigated or acted sooner, some people would have been able to get their money back. I would advise anyone thinking of using Paypal on any site to think very carefully before going ahead with any purchase as you don't neccessarily have more protection by paying via Paypal.0

Thats terrible! They must of had untold complaints about that site.
They still come up on a google search and are taking orders. Paypal are going to allow this person to carry on receiving money from other innocent people and are not giving you your money back, that is really bad. Lets hope your post gets to a few people who are looking into buying from that site.0 -

Have you spoken by telephone to PayPal? If not I suggest you do.0 -
It's a shame about Hartings, I guess shipping to the UK became too stressful due to demand being so high.
As for Aussie Direct, I was lucky too with my tall chocs and upsides but I don't think I'd risk them again.

Hi,
My gf has been dropping huge hints that she wants a pair of ugg boots for christmas, she said would like chestnut or beige coloured classic tall uggs.
I'm unable to find the chestnut colour in her size but have found some sand coloured ones.
So my question is does sand color equal beige???0
