I am surprised Ugg doesnt take complaints more seriously, if its that much hassle to buy a pair of their brand of boots its likely to make you not buy and find another brand. Its not good for their business so I dont understand why they dont take action.

James seemed to scarper not long after i questioned his boots!

I bet he is still reading this thread.

I agree with the comment that even if some are genuine why buy from there, i think they have been mixing real ones with fakes to meet demand as Ugg did say they supply to AD so not all buyers here have fakes, James came here to gain trust and convince everyone he was a nice bloke selling genuine boots to get more money, 5% discount to encourage you to buy more that 5% doesnt even touch the profits they are making, then the prices go up, the after sales is rubbish and where is James now? Money making scumbags!

So James if you are reading this rubbing your greasy little palms together with joy looking at your profits I wonder if you have any conscience to realise people have saved, worked and borrowed to buy these boots, proudly walked around displaying their fakes and now feel upset at what your company has done. So much for your website quote we really are nice people to deal with.
  • I think that Martin needs to sort out his first post. DO NOT BUY FROM AD, total rip off merchants who refuse to answer emails. I'm now stuck with a pair of fakes.... thanks for the recommendation Martin.

    Hi Vix,

They are not charging the recipitant the VAT on the childrens boots, but Customs Duties of 17% (that is 17% total cost of boots + shipping). I spoke to the charging department earlier this week and they confirmed this for me. Also, because parcelforce 'has' to pay the charges for Duty before it 'leaves' customs then you also get the £13.50 charged by Parcelforce for their 'service'.

Quite clearly Parcelforce seem to be making sure they are cashing in and getting what they can from as many people as possible as, even as someone who used to receive a lot of returned merchandise marked 'clothing' at the customers retail cost from overseas, many packages used to come through without me being charged anything. I personally think they have stepped up their C&E department to make sure people cannot get items for much cheaper than over here because of the number of people who are choosing to shop where it is cheaper.

As are HMRC as they are NOT charging VAT on the childrens shoes and little things like this used to go through. VAT and Duty are seperate charges and are charged at different amounts. Also, VAT can be put through on your VAT Return if you are a business and are VAT registered the same as if you buy from a VAT supplier in the UK, Duty cannot so this puts the price up that you need to sell for if you are a retailer (if that makes sense).

It was how I explained a few posts back and the person getting charged from REI confirmed this as it was noted down as a Duty Charge, nothing for VAT and then the Parcelforce 'Fee'.

    Hope that makes sense.

Hi Blue Monkey I wasn't questioning the vat aspect, but the other poster did state in their first post that kids footwear was only exempt from size 3.3. and they had been charged vat.
As I do VAT accounting as my job I was aware of a memo stating that because of the fact that children are now larger in sizes, customs had amended their criteria for clothing and footwear in line with this, hence flat girls footwear up to size 5.5 is now vat free. As I don't often deal with kids stuff at work I looked it up but only read the relevant section, hence the message that I may have missed something about boots being excluded or something. Unlikely they would do this, but not definate.

    Hi Vix,
no problem I understand, so many posts you kind of lose track. the poster came back and reported this:
Just had my 'official' letter through and to clarify for the kids boots:

    Import Duty £8.77
    Excise Duty
    VAT
    Other
    Parcelforce Clearance Fee £13.50
    TOTAL £22.27

I was just trying to explain that they are charging duty only and not the VAT. Still any excuse for Parcelforce to charge £13.50 to everyone.

Mookie, I couldn't agree more with everything you say! :T I just don't understand how Ugg UK and what I guess is the worldwide customer care centre (given that it's open 24 hours a day) has had a load of complaints about Australia Direct ... and aren't more angry! Maybe they are doing more behind the scenes - I bet they spend shed loads on lawyers etc and protecting their brand.

Chameleon is spot on too - if this is the quality of AD's goods and their "after care" service is so complete pants - they don't deserve people's hard earned money for whatever they're selling.

Mooks, I think you scared him off! And yes, James if you are reading this ... why not stop by and say hi ... :rotfl: I worked really hard for my £104 and was so excited about getting some great new boots. Nice one, thanks. I hope it chokes you. And I hope that people on this site and who Google your company find all our comments and read them before deciding where to spend their hard earned cash.

They ARE nice people to deal with - until they get your money

Absolutely spot on :T I don't think I'm dumb or naive, but I bought boots from AD having seen this thread and Martin's email. Unfortunately I picked AD before all the posts started appearing questioning the not-choc colour boots  I wouldn't touch now, but it's too late for me and lots of others. I just hope people do their research properly before parting with their money. I think there should DEFINITELY be a health warning added by Martin, and preferably in the next email he sends out too.

Anyone want my AD 5% off voucher code by any chance ... :rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

after reading the replies and also how to spot fake uggs guides on ebay i'm no longer worried. they are definitely genuine as i first thought.
  • Has anyone heard of or ever ordered any Uggs from Sheepskinshoes.com
Just been looking at their website but couldn't quite understand the shipping methods as most options they gave were not for international orders but they say they ship wordwide.

Can anyone give any info on this.

    Hehehehe :rotfl:

Well, anyone doing a google search for "UGG boots" will find this thread amongst the top couple of results so will definitely be able to find out all about AD's fake boots, assuming they have the time and/or patience to read through the entire thread of course!

I think it's definitely time Martin placed a warning on the first post for all the newbies stumbling across this thread by accident

Has anyone PM'd him to update him on the latest revelations?
